Trump-Duterte Meeting
The two presidents were seated next to each other, with their staffs in two rows of chairs, facing each other.
President Duterte was wearing a gray windbreaker-like jacket over his traditional Barong. It had zippered pockets on the sleeves. POTUS was in his suit with red tie.
Duterte had apparently finished his opening remarks shortly before the pool was escorted into the room, a fact Trump pointed out to the press.
“I will say this, the media was a little bit late, and you actually missed the best part of the presidents statement. I think he should make it again,” he said, turning to Duterte with a smile.
“But ah, weve had a great relationship,” Trump continued. “This has been very successful. Weve had many meetings today with many other leaders. The ASEAN conference has been handled beautifully by the president of the Philippines and your representatives. I’ve really enjoyed being here.”

Then Trump turned to a discussion of the weather.
“The weather is always good,” he said, turning toward a line of windows with a view of clouds outside. “Today, its pretty good. But one thing about the Philippines: eventually it gets good, no matter what. But we very much appreciate it. Last nights event was fantastic. Tremendous talent. Most of it, I guess, from the Philippines. But tremendous talent, musical talent, dance talent. We really had a tremendous time, all of the leaders.”
Pool tried again to elicit answer on whether Trump had raised human rights with Duterte, but did not get a response.
“Whoa, whoa,” Duterte said. “This not a press statement. This is the bilateral meeting.”
The following passage was difficult to hear — this is an approximate transcript
Duterte: “We will be discussing matters that are of interest to both the Philippines and...with you around, guys, you are the spies.”
“Hah, hah, hah,” Trump said laughing.
“You are,” Duterte repeated.
Pool is now holding in a room, awaiting the US-ASEAN summit.

Good morning nfldgirl and all my dear deplorables....

If you have followed our thread for the past months I have a CRETIN(s) of week in every posting of thread on Sunday. These are not savory folk..far from it and often the creeps in congress, media, Hollywood, sports.... or yes, even outlaws. Part of the reason is that these individuals made a negative impact toward either our cause(MAGA) or our country.

The other part of the reason is the archival value. Thinking that in a couple years for anyone who goes back they will be able to connect the cretin/creep with the relevant current events..

Appreciate your comment but there is a pointed reason for the inclusion.

And to all... I TRULY appreciate your kindness (for most part) toward each other on the Trump Train. It seems anytime I venture to another thread at FR, there is hostility, name calling, lack of respect. I shook my head going over some of the comments yesterday - yes, even on the Sunday morning Talk Show thread. Sad

We will never all agree on everything but respect of our fellow posters is important. We all have our problems and sometimes have off days, where we might not be as benevolent as we should. Apology is a good word and good response if necessary

Lets not get our panties in a wad if someone does not share our ideas/mentality. Life is much too short to sweat the small stuff... and what is the old saying?... both line is MOST of it is Small Stuff.

I recall you are a boater. Yesterday I attended a meeting in Strongsville Ohio of a group called CABBS (Cleveland Amateur BoatBuilders and Boating Society). Speaker owns a company in Lakeside Ohio(not far from Cedar Point on Lake Erie) that specialized in refurbishing.. HIs work is amazing. Dwight Davis of Classic Marine

These folk build from scratch or refurbish classic(often quite old) wooden boats. Some manufactured materials but mostly wood. Examples 1953 45’ Chris Craft; 1968 30’ Lyman; 1937 32’ Richardson (really cool project)
