I recall you are a boater. Yesterday I attended a meeting in Strongsville Ohio of a group called CABBS (Cleveland Amateur BoatBuilders and Boating Society). Speaker owns a company in Lakeside Ohio(not far from Cedar Point on Lake Erie) that specialized in refurbishing.. HIs work is amazing. Dwight Davis of Classic Marine
These folk build from scratch or refurbish classic(often quite old) wooden boats. Some manufactured materials but mostly wood. Examples 1953 45’ Chris Craft; 1968 30’ Lyman; 1937 32’ Richardson (really cool project)
