Demons are as real as you and me. That is because they are you and me.
We are responsible for the evil each of us does. Demons in the modern context are a proxy to evade responsibility. A “my dog ate my homework” excuse.
This nonsense stands in the way of many a souls salvation because it allows blame shifting. It also creates a cottage industry (as evidenced by this theead) of folks, true charlatans, pretending to influence demons and some poor gullible folks cheering them on.
Look in the mirror. There is evil in there, and its up to you to control it wth God’s assistance.

It also explains why/how the enemy seems to act in concert, with no clearly visible leader.
The battle is clearly joined. We know who wins in the end, but that does not mean it will not be ugly here on earth.

Act 19:16 - And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
Act 19:17 - And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.
