As an urban public school educator, I love it when the public becomes “informed” on the mess that urban public schools truly are. On comment focused on AP courses. At my urban high school we have 490 students taking AP courses out of a population of 1800. I’m thrilled to announce that our average ACT score is 15.1, where as even the community college requires a minimum of 16 to register for classes. Our school prides itself on involving over 25% of the student body in AP courses...see where this is going. MOST have NO business being in a regular course, let alone an honors course, LET ALONE AP courses. Lipstick on a pig gentlemen, lipstick on a pig.

When the local Baltimore school boards heard this, they replied, "so, 300% is still pretty good proficiency!"

Wonder what “proficient in math” requires?
Solve the equation: 2x+4=10?

I did see one recently that was a bit trickier to solve:
sqrt(x)+sqrt(x+15)=15.

Baltimore is the goal of the Racist NAACP. Every thing the NAACP desires was achieved in Baltimore. The failure of Baltimore to be American is in every way attributable to the realization of the NAACP racist dreams.

Baltimore is the living proof that Africa and America are not compatible

I hear you, krug. In my neck of the woods there was an escape valve for the good kids: the Honors and the AP classes. Those classes had prerequisites that kept the thugs out. Students could actually learn something there!

But then someone complained that our Honors and the AP classes weren’t diverse enough. So the prerequisites were dropped. Thugs were assigned to these classes even if they didn’t request them.

I’m sure you can fill in the rest.

Actually the Baltimore have some positives over my local California High Schools. From the one the Baltimore high school website

Notice no Gay Straight Alliance

No Coming Out Day

They have ROTC

Not all bad

When these kids graduate and become adults how are they going to have the math skills to figure out if their welfare check is being issued in the correct amount.

Now if you ask some of these geniuses how many dime bags 4 oz of pot would give you or how many crack rocks needed to sell at $25ea to make the next escalade payment. They would all be math Einsteins.

It mentions the school motto in the article but doesn't let us know what it is.

I posted on their facebook page asking about it and Mr. Pannell was kind enough to reply...

Are you watching the CBS evening news? They just did a segment on a private citizen who has a free library named the Book Thing in Baltimore. Anyone can take whatever books they wish and keep them or return them or bring in more. One teacher stocks his classroom with the books. Apparently, the place recently burned down but the guy reopened it and has received a bunch of books.

The little thugs can’t say they don’t have access to books. There’s no excuse for why little Demetrius can’t read.

Thinking this on CBS right after the proficiency numbers came out was planned.

My, oh, my. Just saw CBS This Morning ran the story about the Book Thing, AGAIN. They really are on a campaign trying hard to dispel those low proficiency numbers.

I would like to go back in time and bring a large group of freedmen to the present and bring them up to speed on what the present thug/morons have done with their hard work of an educated and responsible black culture. I would then like to see them kick butt everywhere starting with the NFL kneelers..
