Live Election Report From Virginia

Posted on 11/07/2017 10:38:40 AM PST by SarahPalin2012

I just voted in SW Virginia. Rural area, goes usually about 58-42 for the good guys (or at least the less-evil guys). More cars than usual for off year elections but no real wait inside. This was about noon. I'd guess that it was half of 2016 (Trump), and about equal to when Cuccinelli lost a very close race without any establishment help in 2013 to McAuliffe. Although the Dems have an edge in VA now, I still think it is very winnable for Republicans. My hope is that we pull out a win in a close election. For those conservatives sitting out because Gillespie is kind of gutless, I know you won't listen but it still needs to be said. You are not helping.

I was one of the first people on this site to endorse Trump in 2015.

I’m a Corey guy hope you re right.

Don't listen to the out-of-staters; most of them are paid GOPe shills. The revolution has begun, and the days of GOPe control of the party is waning. We'll continue to kick the RINOs to the curb until they pay attention. Eventually they'll get the message the "We the People" aren't taking their crap any more.

Thank you for your kind words about my state of birth. I now live in NC-which is also turning increasingly blue. VA was great in my youth. You feel like it’s always 1776 due to the numerous history and being the birthplace of 8 presidents. You feel almost related to G. Washington and T. Jefferson. It is very sad.

Also, I’ve always felt the same way about New England. CT is beautiful too, like all the NE states. What a pity so much history and natural beauty is tainted by leftism.

Ed Gillespie worked hard but did not embrace me or what I stand for. Don’t forget, Republicans won 4 out of 4 House seats, and with the economy doing record numbers, we will continue to win, even bigger than before!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 8, 2017

Gillespie should be embarrassed for wasting a GOP nomination (one that he secured by trashing his primary rivals) on such a pathetic losing effort. And apparently dragging the entire state party down with him. There’s really not much more to say than that. Hopefully, he will be told rather rudely to go away and stay away if he tries to make yet ANOTHER GOP electoral run.

You checked out HoD? If my counts right, looks like it goes from gop supermajority to tied.

You can't think short-term; this is going to take a long time. Short-term is a GOPe scare tactic. This is a long game.

A RINO Amnesty pimp lost. This is cause for celebration.

I lived in VA from 1979 to 2015. I know the state and watched it turn blue. FYI: The Dems have now taken control of the House of Delegates.

One can only hope! Maybe, just maybe, the GOPe will begin to understand that MAGA is underway and the old "it's his turn" crap is over.

Good. Stay away. We'll take care of it from here on out.

If that happens, the Rats will turn Virginia into California starting with nuking the relatively good gun laws in the state.

Yes, it looks like the HOD will go from 66 Republicans to about 48 or a net loss of 18, with almost NO delegates from the mess that calls itself Northern Virginia.

The loss is no big surprise. The state borders D.C. and I would imagine a good number of people in VA are bureaucrats on the government teet. So there ya have it.

You are fighting against the tide. Denial just ain't a river in Egypt. VA is going down the toliet the same way CA has. The GOP base is dying off and the Dems are increasing in numbers thanks to mass immigration and the internal migration of those from the Northeast.

I still own property in NoVA. I know my property taxes will continue to rise.
