Japan might be routinely hailed as one of the best places in the world for food but that has not inspired Donald Trump to deviate from his strict all-American diet, Independent reported.
There was not a trace of ramen, sushi or tempura on President Trumps plate at a casual lunch with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Sunday.
The billionaire property developer instead relished in eating a hamburger sourced from American beef during his first trip to Japan as President.
Mr Trump chose to have his burger well-done as he has become so famed for doing with his steaks.
President Trump played golf with Mr Abe at the Kasumigaseki Country Club - alongside professional golfer Hideki Matsuyama - on his first day in the country. According to an excerpt from the book Lost Tycoon: The Many Lives of Donald J Trump, during a trip to Japan back in 1990 Mr Trump said he would not eat "f***ing raw fish" and instead devoured a hamburger at McDonald's which cheered him up massively.
It all depends on who is the cook. I have had very good and very bad Korean, Mexican, Italian, Greek, Chinese, Indian, English, German and Filipino food. The best Italian food ever in a restaurant in Marysville, WA. The best Indian food at Bombay Palace in downtown Chicago. The best Greek food cooked by my Greek boss’s wife in Chicago. The best German food at Zum Deutsche Eck in Chicago, the best boned and buttered Perch in a restaurant in Whiting, Indiana, and the best ever steak at my college friend’s parent’s farm in Iowa from a farm raised corn fed cow.
If I was forced to liver rest of my life on just one cuisine, it would be my mother’s cooking in India, where I spent first 20 years of my life. Her stuffed Prawns with freshly grated coconut, Mutton Biryani, fried Pamphret fish, and Gulab Jamuns were to die for. She actually wrote a cook book due to insistence by friends and relatives.
Maybe he thinks the fish in Japan are radioactive since the nuke accident.
Just saying...
Lately I have been buying grass fed beef at an Aldi food store, and it is lean and pretty good.
He remembered that famous Bush vomit during a dinner there.
I tried to like Natto When I lived in Tokyo. But in the end, I could live without it.
The president seems to be very religious about his food intake. Really.
Don’t try to call him “President Wimpy”...
LOL.
Isn’t locks and bagels made from sun dried salmon? On cruise ships usually I order locks with onions and capers.
Other than ramen and tempura, I don’t care for the food either. I would opt for the hamburger myself.
Whoever invented wasabi was seriously sadistic.
I thought you might take that as an attack and get crappy about it, but I am at a loss to imagine what virtue you think might be signaled by criticizing greentards for the ethanol debacle.
Even knowing that corn-fed beef is orders of magnitude better than grass-fed implies no virtue.
When you travel you do not want stomach issues.
Diet consistency is a wise thing. Especially as you get older.
“...instead relished in eating a hamburger sourced from American beef...”
Japanese food is generally very good and of high quality, so I think this was more of a political statement concerning trade and fair access to the Japanese market. The Japanese used all kinds of delaying tactics to stop imports of US beef.
As did I until a friend dragged me into a Japanese restaurant. Now I love sushi and sashimi.
Wonderful stuff.
Our press is cray-cray
This morning they hate him for feeding the fish
This afternoon they hate him for not eating fish
Try lox on a bagel with cream cheese! Yum!
You are just like a liberal! You worry too much about what other people are doing. It’s like the Hank Williams song...”If you mind your own business then you won’t be minding mine..”
Now that you mention it, yes, the lox and bagels do usually come with cream cheese, onions and capers.
