Japan might be routinely hailed as one of the best places in the world for food but that has not inspired Donald Trump to deviate from his strict all-American diet, Independent reported.
There was not a trace of ramen, sushi or tempura on President Trumps plate at a casual lunch with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Sunday.
The billionaire property developer instead relished in eating a hamburger sourced from American beef during his first trip to Japan as President.
Mr Trump chose to have his burger well-done as he has become so famed for doing with his steaks.
President Trump played golf with Mr Abe at the Kasumigaseki Country Club - alongside professional golfer Hideki Matsuyama - on his first day in the country. According to an excerpt from the book Lost Tycoon: The Many Lives of Donald J Trump, during a trip to Japan back in 1990 Mr Trump said he would not eat "f***ing raw fish" and instead devoured a hamburger at McDonald's which cheered him up massively.
The best meal I remember from my three cruises to Asia was at Jimmy’s Kitchen in Wan Chai, Hong Kong, in 1969. It was my first time in that port and one of my shipmates who had been there before took us to this small traditional restaurant and we all had the Kobe steak dinners. About 8 ounces cooked rare, a baked potato with butter and a fresh tossed green salad. $3.99 USD.
John Edwards and his wife played this card too during his campaigns.
Amen, brother.
Cheeseburgers and MY tacos are my favorite foods. Each has to be made according to proper specifications.
I wouldn’t pass up sushi blue fin tuna...
Kobe beef hamburger, however, would be awesome.
Hey... that sounds worth a try. Call me choosy or whatever but I don't care for most of the stuff that most people build burgers with. I think I'm gonna try that next time at home.
Or, plan B, cheesesteaks on ciabatta rolls.
Saturday nite, for the ball game...
Raw fish is definitely an acquired taste and I’ve found tuna tar tare to be a great way to ‘break the ice’ with those reluctant to try it, especially children.
As with all raw food, its important to have confidence in the folks preparing it.
This is a point where I have to disagree with Trump. I prefer my beef cooked to medium. My sister on the other hand likes her steaks served in a funeral urn.
Pretty funny. Actually I like and eat both Japanese and American, but mostly American.
Yeah; I remember when 41 puked in the lap of Japan’s leader.
Lamb is leaner than beef and good! I grew up eating Mutton which is goat meat and it is also very good and lean meat.
#1 criteria for us, find the cheapest sale price on internet. This web site can give you prices for all cruises in the world sailing within 90 days. Many times if the ship has lots of unsold cabins left, prices will drop as the sail date gets close. But many times price goes up as the ship fills up.
Agreed on taste, sirloin has a bit less fat than chuck, and more tender meat.
Excellent point!!!!
You seem to have a good handle on where the parasites can lurk in uncooked sea food.
Nah.
I travel a lot and sushi is probably the one consistent kosher food I can find on the road, as I watch it get prepared and know exactly what is in it.
It gets tiring.
Liberal elitists everywhere, are clutching their pearls over this.
Winning!!
small point, goat meat is goat meat, mutton is adult sheep, wheras lamb is usually 6 mo or therabouts
Yeah!
Why not? I certainly can’t be any worse a news source than our current so-called media.
