A gunman opened fire inside the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs on Sunday, killing and injuring multiple people, authorities said

The shooting suspect has been identified as Devin Patrick Kelley, CBS News has learned

The Connally Memorial Medical Center said "multiple" victims are being treated

Agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said they were responding to the shooting.

An FBI crisis response team is also on the scene, a law enforcement official said

“Kelley entered First Baptist Church at approximately 11:30 a.m., witnesses reported, and opened fire. Officials said Kelley wore a ballistic vest and dressed in all black.

A law enforcement official told The Daily Beast it is “assumed” that Kelley used the same rifle in the church was photographed on Facebook.

When Kelley exited the church, he dropped his rifle, a law enforcement source told The Daily Beast.

Kelley was pursued by a civilian with a shotgun, Sheriff Joe Tackett said on Sunday evening during a press conference, and died near the city of New Berlin.

It is unclear if Kelley was killed or died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police told reporters that Kelley’s victims range in age from 5 to 72, with approximately 20 wounded being treated at area hospitals.”

Dunno, but there is or certainly should be a presumption that this kind of senseless, unprovoked attack and mass killing are done by a Islamic jihadist.

The link below is a list of 93 deadly Islamic terror attacks made on American soil since 1972 that supports such a presumption.

Most of those weren't mass shootings.

My presumption with these types of mass shooting events is the perp will be an emasculated white loser who was never taught how to deal with life's challenges.

"As he exited the church, a local resident grabbed his gun and pursued the suspect, who dropped his weapon and fled the scene.

The suspect was later found dead inside his vehicle. Officials are unsure if he was shot by a resident or suffered a self inflicted gunshot wound, said Freeman Martin, regional director of the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The daughter of the church’s pastor was one of the victim’s killed in the shooting, her mother Sherri Pomeroy told CBS News via text message.

“My husband and I were ironically out of town in two different states. We lost our 14-year-old daughter today and many friends,” Pomeroy said Sunday.

She added, “Neither of us have made it back into town yet to personally see the devastation. I am at the Charlotte airport trying to get home as soon as I can.” ..."

Yup and sometimes it’s hard enough finding a good relevant channel online when something’s going down in a large metro area. In sleepy small towns there’s usually just not that much going on to stream anyway. I think the best you could hope for is to find a channel for the Sheriff of the county a small town is located in.
