Add Rob Reiner to the list of celebrities who wouldnt accept an invitation to visit Donald Trumps White House.
Speaking with Yahoo Entertainment about his timely new political drama, LBJ, the outspoken filmmaker & political activist indicated that hed steer clear of a one-on-one meeting with Trump, even if the invitation came with the opportunity to screen his portrait of Americas 36th president (played by Woody Harrelson) for the 45th inhabitant of the Oval Office.
I would never go to his White House, Reiner says emphatically. Not only do I not agree with him politically, but I find him to be a disagreeable person, and a person with no feelings or empathy for anybody but himself.
Hopefully our country & democracy will survive this presidency, but this is one of the biggest challenges democracy has ever faced to have someone as DISREPUTABLE as Donald Trump in the White House.
In the unlikely event that Trump does watch LBJ, which opens in theaters on Nov. 3, Reiner isnt holding his breath that hell learn anything from it.
He doesnt seem to want to learn anything; thats the most upsetting thing. He has no interest in it, because its not about him personally. He only cares about his own survival and his own pocketbook.
Reiner, who was 16 when Johnson took office, admits to not thinking highly of LBJ during his administration, especially as the Vietnam War grew to overshadow his domestic agenda.

I get it, Rob. I would never go to Hussein’s White House, either, given the chance.
I betcha five years ago he was hitting up Trump to fund his movie projects.
Perfect, because I would never go to his movie.
Arrogant jerk King Sturdivant.
So what??
Reiner is still a meathead—for 46 years.
I finally got my chance to pee on LBJ’s gravesite in Texas. For all my lost comrades in VN. It was worth the trip.
Stifle it, Meathead!
Boycott Hollywood.
PING!
LBJ was a womanizer and likely had sex with at least one underage girl as a congressman. As for Reiner, I am soooo impressed that he turned down an invitation he didn’t get.
There are a few ways disputes can be settled and agreements/compromises can be reached
1) find common ground and start from there
2) agree to start with the law (courts decide)
3) beat the other side into submission and get your way 100%, now and for the future
The flag/anthem/country could be a common ground that Americans can rally behind and use as a starting point for coming together. It was at one time, but the NFL says it’s not an option any more. There are many other common grounds such as movies.
The Constitution could be a way to move forward and settle disputes. But the left says it’s not relevant along with any other law they don’t like.
Seems like Reiner has opted for option 3 (like so many liberals and dictators throughout history).
He wasn't acting when he played Meathead.
I would never go to Rob Reiners house.
Statements like this show how blind the left is.
Donald Trump sacrificed tremendous wealth and opportunities when he became President.
ML/NJ
Moot Point.
LOL! That is a funny line thing to say. I know the writer is suggesting that President Trump is far to arrogant to be open minded enough to learn a Presidential lesson from a hollywood liberal like Reiner.... but it is still funny because at least they realize that President Trump will pay hollywood no mind at all.
They don't accept the mentally retarded ?
Good man!
I have pissed on that sign outside of Hope, Arkansas proclaiming it to be the birthplace of Slick Willie. Does that count?
And his old man (who was actually talented) is still going at 95...
If “LBJ” doesn’t include his line “I’ll have those niggers voting Democrat for two-hundred years” then it’s fake history.
“Not only do I not agree with him politically, but I find him to be a disagreeable person, and a person with no feelings or empathy for anybody but himself.”
This coming from someone who has spent decades working for/with sexual harassers and rapists? Was he too dumb to realize that stuff was going on? Or did he know and was too afraid to lose his career to not say anything?
Get off your soapbox, guy. Your feet are made of clay too.
