I gave up on Drudge some time ago (after almost twenty years as my go-to news feed) and have been looking for alternatives. Two that seem to be pretty good are Whatfinger and The Liberty Daily. The first is a pretty conventional newsfeed but Liberty Daily is Drudge for normals.
1) Free Republic
2) One America News
I’ve never heard of the first one but the seconds looks pretty good, too.
Thanks for the lead.
Thanks.
Got to master HTML one day.
Now, I agree, in part, about WhatFinger and the other outfit.
It is a concern there is NO identifying markers or "about" pages that puts names and professional histories for the individuals assembling the data.
Just this week, the revelation that Fusion GPS was initially funded by the Washington Free Beacon Bacon and the link back to the Kristol Klan.
Gotta know the spinners before relying on the weave.
Excellent points.
At the end of the day we’ve got to think for ourselves and make up our own minds.
Instapundit is kind of a news aggregator and is quite good.
I rarely bother with Drudge or any other aggregator, because all of the good stories appear here on FR within minutes of being posted elsewhere.
However, I watch CNN. I listen to NPR. And I want news aggregators such as Drudge to include those stories that are not flattering to the causes or people that we support, because it is important to know what the entire population is seeing, hearing, and thinking, not just live in our own echo chamber.
A recent example is how Fox News reported the Manafort indictment and how NPR reported it. I don’t have to like it, but I want to know it exists.
I know Drudge didn’t win any fans during the last election cycle, but he is only reporting what is out there.
Bloody red meat (don’t overindulge):
newswars.com
XLNT POINTS!
Liberty Daily is excellent.
RealClearPolitics.com is a good site, IMHO.
Liberty Daily is shot with stupid ads
Liberty Daily has the same format as Drudge; checking it out but looks okay.
“Gotta know the spinners before relying on the weave. “
+1.
Ever since reading the points raised here by LS, I’ve been tuning in regularly to Big League Politics where he is listed as one of the authors.... https://bigleaguepolitics.com/ Beyond that, it’s FR since anything important will be posted here almost immediately and for variety and to get more perspectives from all sides (just to see what they are saying), Liberty Daily, Fox, CNN and MSNBC (even if these make me ill), OANN, the websites for several of my local papers, People’s Pundit ( https://www.peoplespunditdaily.com/ ) and if I want to know something about what the latest climate change discussion is, wattsupwiththat ( https://wattsupwiththat.com/ ).
The more the merrier, but Drudge still rules because he’s still the best.
Thanks.
I just went to Whatfinger, and it will not be my last trip there.
Haven’t used Drudge for years.
