Special Counsel Robert Mueller's probe into Russian meddling in the U.S. reportedly now includes the Democrat-leaning lobbying firm the Podesta Group, which is headed by Tony Podesta, brother of Hillary Clinton's former campaign manager, John Podesta.
Mueller began looking into the firm after probing the finances of former Trump campaign chief Paul Manafort. The Podesta Group reportedly worked on a pro-Ukraine public relations campaign from 2012 to 2014 organized by Manafort.
On "Tucker Carlson Tonight," Brit Hume said the tide seems to be turning in the Russia collusion story, and not in a way Democrats like.

“I think there must be meetings going on around the clock with politicians and bureaucrats from across the board who are trying to figure out how to get out of this mess that started.”
Yo’ve hit it. The Manafort indictment shows his closeness with the Podesta group, a Democrat entity. Go a little farther back and you find Manafort working for the Ukranian ex-president who was sponsored by Putin. At about the same time the Russians were conspiring with the Witch and Obola to get 20% of our uranium supply. Then you have Manaort working to set Trump, Jr. up with a Russian meeting that has been used to compromise Trump, Jr. It’s all hopelessly mixed. up between both parties, meaning everybody’s running for the high weeds.
“Podesta group”, what Podesta group ?
It has been disolved just under our lying eyes and Mueller’s benediction, with all its incriminating evidence.
Hey, we see that already with the “lost” 30.000 emails, right ?
I agree with you. Sessions needs to grow a set and launch an investigation into Mueller, Comey, Rosenstein, Obama, Podesta, and the Clinton’s regarding the Uranium One deal. Add the dossier to the investigation to.
The best defense is a strong offense. Sessions could offer Manafort and Gates immunity in order to lay waste to the real criminals, which would also effectively end the corrupt Mueller manhunt
Hillary said: If that f ing bastard wins, we all hang from nooses!...
Let us hope that for once in her life, Mrs. Clinton was speaking truthfully!
Less than 1 month between arrest and plea?
Unheard of even with a jaywalking ticket.
Looking at some of the wording in the Montfort indictment, it seems to describe Company B being in on the scam and it seems to describe Company A (supposedly the Podesta Group) as being deceived by the scam.
I could be wrong. Will have to read it again.
Leaning? That's like saying a jellyfish is "flexible".
Having what it takes to investigate Rosenstein, Mueller and the rest of them is not in Sessions' DNA. He has called both Mueller and Rosenstein honorable men.
I know they’ll all really never face justice. But it would be good if they all ran to other countries to avoid extradition and just left the rest of us alone.
Did Hume have a tear in the eye as he disappointingly announced the news?
I too think that's why Podesta left the company. That and fact that the company has lost many of its clients.
“Mueller is a political hack until proven otherwise. Therefore, I can only assume at this point that Podesta is spooked, but Mueller is going to protect him.”
They are ALL political hacks, Manafort, his buddy, the Podestas, Mueller, Rosenstein, Comey, McCabe, et. al. They completely blur the political line between the Left and the Right and replace it with making money any way you can without any consideration for what they are doing to their country. Mueller trying to protect the Podestas is a fools mission which will lead him into the courtroom dock himself. I just imagine right now he’s $hitting himself trying to figure out a way out of his self-made criminal mess. Now we have the White House (Chief of Staff) calling for a separate Independent Prosecutor to look into Uranium One and the Clintons. Both Mueller and Rosenstein are in this up to their dirty necks. The CoS is just a stalking horse for President Trump, with his public message to the Alabamian Ferret, AG Sessions to get on with it! I hope the backstory is that President Trump has told Sessions privately and directly to quit playing with himself and start this investigation in earnest. He can’t hide behind recusal this time!
One problem, Tony Podesta resigned last night and dissolved the Podesta Group.
I think with Mueller’s blessing, with the plan to give him immunity to hide evidence there.
That is what Mueller is really doing..cleaning up where Homie Comey left off.
Unless of course Sessions is part of it.
I hope to Hell not, but the way things have gone, I don’t understand Session’s silence at this point.
Wasn’t he supposed to meet with the President yesterday? I wonder what happened?
LS was saying the whole thing is a brilliant plan to catch the dems, with Mueller and Sessions on Trump’s side to catch Hillary, and it would all come out on Monday.
However, Monday and ALL we saw was Manafort, Gates and Popopolulos or what ever the name was.
So, is the “brilliant game” still afoot, or was all a pipe dream?
I was hoping over the weekend, but have lost a lot of that hope since.
Question—Mueller can choose to ignore all the Clinton crime regarding Russia, but couldn’t the House or Senate—or even Trump on his own—stand up another Special Counsel to look into these matters?
Sure, Mueller might be getting rid of evidence, etc., but much of the crimes are ALREADY exposed.
Perhaps this would the one way to but the halt to Mueller if the dems and deep state leadership notes that Mueller doesn’t have to be the only game in town.
Speaking of which, what’s Congress doing? Aren’t they supposed to have a bunch of committees and such looking into a lot of this?
Also, if enough of the swamp is threatened, maybe they’ll just shut the whole thing down.
Until this narrative is able to be destroyed, this is what most people in the country are seeing on the news they watch. The tide won't turn until at least one of the three major network newscasts start reporting on the real story.
But Manafort is under indictment and Podesta is still a free man. I am reading something into that situation.
