Special Counsel Robert Mueller's probe into Russian meddling in the U.S. reportedly now includes the Democrat-leaning lobbying firm the Podesta Group, which is headed by Tony Podesta, brother of Hillary Clinton's former campaign manager, John Podesta.
Mueller began looking into the firm after probing the finances of former Trump campaign chief Paul Manafort. The Podesta Group reportedly worked on a pro-Ukraine public relations campaign from 2012 to 2014 organized by Manafort.
On "Tucker Carlson Tonight," Brit Hume said the tide seems to be turning in the Russia collusion story, and not in a way Democrats like.

Thanks for posting
It’s to clear Podesta and help protect Hillary
Mueller is a political hack until proven otherwise. Therefore, I can only assume at this point that Podesta is spooked, but Mueller is going to protect him.
.
I think there must be meetings going on around the clock with politicians and bureaucrats from across the board who are trying to figure out how to get out of this mess that started.
When you think of how far from the original investigation they have gone in order to bring charges against Manafort for possible tax dodging 13 years ago you can easily imagine how many people associated with the Clintons and the DNC could go to jail if a special prosecutor is given a blank check to explore their lives.
It’s no stretch to thing that everyone in DC who is not vulnerable to prosecution knows someone who is.
The whole exercise was stacked with lefty activist lawyers to protect TPTB and take down the Trump Admin.
Thinking somehow Mueller will go against his ideology, not to mention backers, friends and associates to indict anyone on the left save some low level flunky for appearance is wishthink.
The Russian/Ukranian boogey according to these indictments occurred during the Obama “reign.” Does anyone seriously think this is anything other than a well orchestrated movement to seal the records during that time and protect everyone involved? Especially the usual suspects?
Cynical, I am. There is no truth in DC. There is nothing that resembles it.
The only non misdirectional statement to come out of the Mueller (political) "investigation" so far.
The idea that Mueller, and 60+ career Democrat Prosecutors are suddenly going to turn on the Democrat party and officials is ludicrous on its face.
Pure fantasy.
Instead expect to see the next indictments against anyone who talked to George Papadopoulos and advised him how to steer clear of the Feds and not end up in prison.
He was wearing a wire. And all advice to the young fellow feigning freaking out was recorded and will be charged as Obstruction of Justice.
Those will be the next 1/2 dozen trophies on Mueller’s wall.
Yup, to clear or at least insulate her. Note, the Podesta’s filed, three years after the fact, amended disclosure forms regarding foreign lobbying. This was at the same time the noose tightened on Manafort. Think they were given a head’s up?? One of the Podesta’s resigned yesterday. He is the fall guy. He will fall on his sword, admit they made an “error” but corrected it and take some kind of administrative sanction like he will be bared from lobbying for a few years. Meanwhile, the band will play on in the Trump lynching.
Will this cause nore LillaryCides to occur?
“and will be charged as Obstruction of Justice.”
Bingo. Recall a late hire by the Mueller inquisition was an attorney skilled in obstruction matters? Everyone thought it was for Trump. No, it was for those who talked to this slime ball and offered some degree of advice.
My advice to anyone faced with someone showing up out of the blue and asking pointed questions about anything that may be considered illegal is simply say: I have no idea what you should do or what you are talking about. If they follow up with remember we discussed this, to simply say I don’t recall any such conversation, you must be dreaming.
When Donkeys FLY will Mueller get indictments on Democrats!
Brit not David, apparently.
I would just say “I’m not qualified to give legal advice. You would be best off having this conversation with your attorney”.
Bingo!! Tony Podesta will probably pay a fine...BFD.
After a year of telling us that collusion with the Russkies is treason and serious perhaps of warranting the death penalty, what are the dems going to say when a batch of their own get brought up on the same charges? ‘Well, it isn’t really that serious!’. They may have just spent a year tying their own nooses.
As soon as the MSMLSD find out the Dems and Hillary were involved it’ll become a non-story.
Funny how Brit keeps wondering about “those journalists” who couldn’t connect the dots in the DC Podesta Group. Brit, aren’t YOU one of “those journalists”? You act like you are from a completely unrelated profession.
****
Like an empty barrel?
Democrat “leaning” Podesta Group? Oh my these media types amuse.
