BREAKING: FIRST CHARGES FILED IN MUELLER INVESTIGATION (CNN)
CNN ^ | 27 Oct 17 | Pamela Brown, Evan Perez and Shimon Prokupecz

Posted on 10/27/2017 5:47:01 PM PDT by Drew68

Washington (CNN) — A federal grand jury in Washington, DC, on Friday approved the first charges in the investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller, according to sources briefed on the matter. The charges are still sealed under orders from a federal judge.

Plans were prepared Friday for anyone charged to be taken into custody as soon as Monday, the sources said.

It is unclear what the charges are. A spokesman for the special counsel's office declined to comment.

Mueller was appointed in May to lead the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election. Under the regulations governing special counsel investigations, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who has oversight over the Russia investigation, would have been made aware of any charges before they were taken before the grand jury for approval, according to people familiar with the matter.

On Friday, top lawyers who are helping to lead the Mueller probe, including veteran prosecutor Andrew Weissmann, were seen entering the court room at the DC federal court where the grand jury meets to hear testimony in the Russia investigation.

Reporters present saw a flurry of activity at the grand jury room, but officials made no announcements.

(snip)

Mueller is authorized to investigate "any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation," according to Rosenstein's order.

The special counsel's investigation has focused on potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, as well as obstruction of justice by the President, who might have tried to impede the investigation.

CNN reported that investigators are scrutinizing Trump and his associates' financial ties to Russia. Mueller's team has also examined foreign lobbying conducted by former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, former national security adviser Michael Flynn, and others. His team has issued subpoenas for documents and testimony to a handful of figures...

Makes sense. I’ve been of the opinion Mueller saw the NDA as a Waterloo - so he shifted into high gear and pretended to be investigating the Democrats.

I think it’s all a show, of course, IMHO.

Ping on that for follow up. Sounds plausivle. He (Mueller) is no dummy..and it would be a travesty to keep an Informant (and he most certainly knows who that is) away from testifying. It would be a master chess move on his part if that is the case...

A person could object publicly at a press conference and resign as well.

Are there no good men in public service that will take a stand on principle?

I know Mueller was interviewed for the FBI director’s position... but I am not aware of an interview taking place at the WH preceding the SC job by one day.

If going after the Clinton cabal was the plan all along- I say BRILLIANT!

Underestimating President Trump, has brought his opponents to this particularly interesting point in time, much to their chagrin, surprise, and pending demise (fingers crossed) and it’s all owing to their own mendacity.

Mueller was sent to get Trump and that is what he will do come hell or high water.

Collusion isn’t a crime. So what Mueller will do is to re-define something that is a crime as collusion. After all, if his buddy Comey can read “intent” into the law regarding the handling of classified information, Mueller can easily find a way to re-define money laundering, or taking a meeting, or whatever as being equivalent to “collusion” and thus a crime.

But it isn’t Trump who will be charged. Instead, Mueller will leave that alone. His mission is to establish that someone, anyone in Trump’s campaign fits his (Mueller’s) new, improved and criminalized definition of collusion. Once that is done his mission of giving the democrats something to start impeachment proceedings has been accomplished.

This is a coup d’etat and they don’t care if you and I know it. They are, as a matter of fact, “in your face” about it on purpose.

The events that got us here are staggering.

1) Where was the probable cause to start the investigation in the first place? Was it based on unmasked surveillance which itself was obtained based on the Fusion GPS dossier? Anyway, this was a “seriousness of the charge” investigation from the get go.

2) What exactly is the law being broken here? Collusion is not against the law. Even if there was evidence of collusion would it form probable cause that a crime was committed?

3) We know only one party that actually used a foreign entity to obtain information harmful to an opposition candidate.

4) Based on the smoke and no fire hysteria, the AG recused himself based on merely taking a meeting with a Russian official. From there on it was a democrat run operation. Yet we now know that Sessions is the only one in this kerfuffle who hasn’t in some way been tainted by a dealing with Russia, i.e. involvement in an investigation, tanking said investigation or approving a sale of a strategic asset to Russia.

4) Comey was fired with the consultation of the very person who appointed Comey’s best buddy to investigate Russian Collusion and whether Trump fired Comey to stop an investigation that there was no probably cause to begin in the first place or that was started based on a phony dossier. Yeah, that Deputy AG is now running the guy running the investigation.

5) Comey admitted to leaking information in order to get a special prosecutor appointed. Just staggering. The guy manipulated the government to get his best buddy appointed to investigate something that may well implicate Comey.

6) Now we find out that Mueller himself was involved in something that started as a counter intel investigation and then migrated to a bribery investigation regarding attempts to obtain a strategic asset. That investigation was tanked and the sale went through anyway.

7) And here we are with Mueller, that guy, handing down indictments or leaking about them being handed down, even though they are sealed, at the very moment the calls for him to resign have become deafening.

Swamp!?!? Calling DC a swamp is an insult to swamps. Oh no, DC is the City State where the permanent ruling class reside. Non-members aren’t welcome there and will be evicted. You don’t like it? Eat poop, pay your taxes and watch more CNN.

"Reporters present saw a flurry of activity at the grand jury room, but officials made no announcements."

So, nothing other than people rushing out to get in line for free lunch.

"The special counsel's investigation has focused on potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, as well as obstruction of justice by the President, who might have tried to impede the investigation."

Really? This same old nothing burger? Trump fired Comey for incompetence, which was within his executive right. These idiots still think it was to "impede the investigation" when he allowed the FBI to recommend a Special Counsel within the DOJ and his own pick of Sleepy Sessions? Really? CNN is this far behind the facts? No wonder they are going down...

"CNN reported that investigators are scrutinizing Trump and his associates' financial ties to Russia."

Okay, then the "investigators" better start looking at every billion dollar company that does business with Russia and other nations. Uh, doesn't Apple and Microsoft do business with Saudia Arabia that is one of the worst human rights violators?

If mueller really wants to go there, there won't be enough popcorn in the world to satisfy the lust for fun food.

“Are there no good men in public service that will take a stand on principle?”

In a dictatorship of people like Hillary and Obama and the Deep State of the CIA and FBI, a stand on principle will quickly put you in your grave. So no, in Washington D.C. you will find no such men. If you serve the dictatorship, you live comfortably, if not wealthy. If you stand on principle, you are expunged, one way or another.

We may find the only way to freedom again will be at the cost of much we hold dear, and even then we likely will not succeed. We better hope Trump can survive and succeed.

Trump knows that he has the power to pardon everybody involved and close up Mueller’s operation with the stroke of a pen. He also knows that the American people will stand behind him if he does.

And if Congress tried to impeach Trump after that, then every Constitutional militia in the country, the National Guard troops of numerous red states and much of the military would converge on Washington to defend Trump and the Constitution against the swamp dwellers. Trump knows that, too.

Despite what the FAKE NEWS industry tells us, Trump is loved by the American people more than any other president since Washington. If Americans are made to choose between Trump and the swamp creatures, they will pick Trump.
