BREAKING: FIRST CHARGES FILED IN MUELLER INVESTIGATION (CNN)
CNN ^ | 27 Oct 17 | Pamela Brown, Evan Perez and Shimon Prokupecz

Washington (CNN) — A federal grand jury in Washington, DC, on Friday approved the first charges in the investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller, according to sources briefed on the matter. The charges are still sealed under orders from a federal judge.

Plans were prepared Friday for anyone charged to be taken into custody as soon as Monday, the sources said.

It is unclear what the charges are. A spokesman for the special counsel's office declined to comment.

Mueller was appointed in May to lead the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election. Under the regulations governing special counsel investigations, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who has oversight over the Russia investigation, would have been made aware of any charges before they were taken before the grand jury for approval, according to people familiar with the matter.

On Friday, top lawyers who are helping to lead the Mueller probe, including veteran prosecutor Andrew Weissmann, were seen entering the court room at the DC federal court where the grand jury meets to hear testimony in the Russia investigation.

Reporters present saw a flurry of activity at the grand jury room, but officials made no announcements.

Mueller is authorized to investigate "any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation," according to Rosenstein's order.

The special counsel's investigation has focused on potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, as well as obstruction of justice by the President, who might have tried to impede the investigation.

CNN reported that investigators are scrutinizing Trump and his associates' financial ties to Russia. Mueller's team has also examined foreign lobbying conducted by former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, former national security adviser Michael Flynn, and others. His team has issued subpoenas for documents and testimony to a handful of figures...

You don’t think Rush was going to be indicted, do you? The person indicted will be able to use the Chewbacca defense.

Trump will find out and Tweet tweet tweet. If it’s an angry tweet-it’s a republican. If he sounds excited or happy buy a stake in popcorn. Maybe Podesta.

A grand Jury cannot indict a sitting President. Only Congress can

Financial crimes are incredibly complex..seems like such a fast indictment would be for perjury or obstruction..but then again..he does have a Powerhouse team that will go faster than typical investigations

I think that Newsweak article is a huge stretch.

Apparently Boente didn't resign under duress. The report I saw indicated that he'd be staying in the job until his replacement is named and confirmed.

They ran into court to get indictments now. This was done by Mueller’s much criticized aggressive deputy.

Is Mueller scrambling?

I think so.

I posted earlier.

It may be a tactic for Mueller to lock up the investigation (S) into his domain.

Bring charges and insist that any potential “Witnesses” in any other investigations by Congress are put in a position that they Can’t say anything because of the “Ongoing” Criminal trial.

The more I think about it, I’m sure that this is what Mueller is doing.

Except a few days ago he had no thoughts of resigning which signals a possible forced resignation

Or

A sudden catalyst

Gee what a coincidence this weekend news will not be dominated by Hilary Russia collusion and Mueller’s own involvement.

Manafort operated in Ukrainian and Russian swamps. Corruption is pretty much expected there. It’s so bad that you are not corrupt they powers that be will attack you just for that.
