‘Who paid for the dossier?’ doesn't matter; Russian meddling in our elections is what's important
Los Angeles Times ^ | October 27, 2017 | The Times Editorial Board

Republicans are indignant over this week’s Washington Post report that the Democratic National Committee paid for the infamous “dossier” alleging that Russia had amassed compromising information about Donald Trump and sought to help his presidential campaign.

That’s absurd. Who paid for the 35-page report compiled by former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele is far less important than whether any or all of the allegations it contains are true.

If some of the allegations in the Steele dossier are accurate, it’s of small importance that they were turned up as part of an opposition research operation. And, of course, the Steele document isn’t the only source of suspicion about Russian meddling or about improper contacts between Russian operatives or intermediaries and people in the Trump orbit.

Not for the first time — remember the bogus scandal about the supposedly improper “unmasking” of Trump transition officials whose names appeared in intelligence intercepts? — the president and his allies are seizing on a sideshow to distract attention from the main event: Russian interference in last year’s election and allegations that the Trump campaign colluded in that interference — and that Trump tried to frustrate investigations of that conduct, including by firing former FBI Director James B. Comey. Neither the public nor federal investigators should be fooled into taking their eyes off the ball.

Using the fake dossier to secure warrant to spy on Trump has Obusted’s fingerprints all over it. There’s your crux of the biscuit and what the Libs are utterly terrified.

Obusted Omuslim legacy goes into the rubbish bin where it belonged!

Liberals love the russians as Ted Kennedy wanted help for russia to beat Reagan. Hillary will tolerate anyone that will give a million dollars or more to here “charity”. The ends justify the means to these demonicrats.

All I could see was blah, blah, blah, blah, blah followed by more blah.

Regardless of that fact I'm sure they are just spouting more liberal nonsense, as they always do.

As for your concern about other Republicans candidates, it is moot because opposition research is not illegal, though not reporting it to the FEC is. What is germane is the fact they called Trump's son acts, treasonous. That he even agreed to listen to what she had to say with regards to dirt on Hillary, even though she had nothing with regard to that claim.

Yet they want everyone to look the other way & ignore the fact that real collusion did occur with Russians who were supplying the dirt on Trump, regardless of the validity of the information they received.

They are hopefully not going to get a pass as is the usual action taken by Republicans. As they fear the same in retaliation when they no longer hold the power.

Did Fusion, Crooked Hillary, the DNC, the CIA, FBI, and other Deep State goons open investigations on all the GOP candidates?

Why just Trump? Everyone knew Trump could NEVER win.

That’s about it.

The article is as fake as the dossier.

‘Who paid for the dossier?’ doesn't matter

And, if it were proven a republican paid, would we be reading this same story?

Don’t over-analyze this article.

The talking points that the LAT and the rest of the MSM are responding to go something like this:

Who Paid for the Dossier is Really Not Important. And so you, our loyal Readers, Watchers and Listeners, should expect no further coverage on this subject from us.

Trump was the only outsider. Trump was the presumptive nominee by May. The Dossier was put together on short notice relatively soon thereafter, as far as I can tell.

Twitter’s multi-million dollar US election pitch to RT revealed in FULL

RT ^ | October 27, 2017

After RT published excerpts from Twitter’s “limited offer” to spend millions on US election marketing, the company abruptly banned all advertising from the news network. This makes full disclosure and transparency imperative, so here goes.

On Thursday, the micro-blogging platform announced a policy decision to ban ads from RT and Sputnik, citing alleged meddling in the 2016 US election.

It followed Twitter’s report implying that RT was trying to influence US public opinion, crucially without providing context that virtually all news media organizations spend money on advertising their news coverage.

RT was thereby forced to reveal some details of the 2016 negotiations during which Twitter representatives made an exclusive multi-million dollar advertising proposal to spend big during the US presidential election, which was turned down.

Having since been banned, and in order to set the record straight, we are publishing Twitter’s presentation and details of the offer in full.

They keep trying to move the goal posts. They’ve done it so many times they’re moving into the stands, and the end zone seats are beginning to notice.

How are these talking point distributed? On the alphabet networks, the wording is so similar that it is obviously a script. Can someone intercept the email / text / phone call / skype / whatever, and publish it?
