Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy of South Carolina said he has confidence in Special Counsel Robert Mueller and praised his service record Wednesday on Americas Newsroom.
This is a really difficult political environment were in. Im not sure you could find anyone not named Jesus that everyone would be happy with. I actually am satisfied with Robert Muller, Gowdy said during the Fox News interview.
Gowdy said it shouldnt matter who leads an investigation into the Uranium One deal because it should ultimately follow the facts to a logical conclusion.
Investigations should follow facts and it really shouldnt matter whos leading them. Facts are what direct it, he said. I know Im in a small group among Republicans but I actually have confidence hes going to reach the right conclusions for the right reasons and hell have credibility with the American people when hes done.

Always always, when we have our opponents on the ropes you can count on a Stockholm syndrome useful idiot Republican to bail them out. Usually, its McCain. Welcome to the club, Trey Gowdy.
If they think Mueller can be trusted they are fools. I can already see where Mueller’s investigation is going because it arrived there before it started. It will conclude with a big Fitzgerald/Scooter Libby like announcement.
Mueller will gather the press. Visions of Trump impeachment proceedings will be wild in the MSM’s head. Mueller begins, “I was told to investigate collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia and how or if they worked together to influence the election. You know, collusion can take many forms. . . . “
Uh oh, here it comes as thereafter Mueller will spin an hour long re-definition of “collusion” so that the new definition fits whatever the hell facts his investigation has found. Somehow, Trump having had a hotel or any financial business dealings with anyone in Russia or hired someone who once had Russian dressing on a salad or having hired Manafort, or listened to some Russian lawyer who once had lunch with Putin will be, wait for it, “collusion in the SPIRIT of what I (Mueller) was hired to investigate.”
“Wait,” we will all say on a FR thread undoubtedly dedicated to this announcement. “What about Podesta, what about the fake dossier?” Podesta and his group won’t get a mention. Fake dossier, oh no, suddenly that will be taken as 1000000000% true because, another classic, “My team (Mueller’s hacks) can’t prove it isn’t true.” Undoubtedly, they could have a report of Trump taking golden showers on his grandchildren while wearing a KKK hood and burning a cross and that would have to be taken as a fact “absent evidence to the contrary.”
Then comes the final punch line from Mueller. “Although there was collusion, we can’t find a crime that has been committed and it is up to Congress to act from here base on our findings. But we did find that Reince Preibus and the White House janitor lied to us with regard to what they had for lunch on Election Day and are bringing an indictment against them for perjury.”
The MSM will then run with it, the Dems will then run with it (starting impeachment) the GOPe will run with it (Corker and crew seeking vengeance) and suddenly, things like hacking e-mails and other matters that formed the basis of the original investigation will be wiped away as if they never existed. Instead, we will witness the usual moving goal posts. Hell, the MSM will look at us with a straight face and re-name the so called “scandal.” I know, how about “Salad Dressing Gate, Trump’s love affair with Putin’s favorite dressing on his salad.”
As for Manafort, because he brilliantly tied himself to the Podesta Group, he will skate. This will irk the MSM to no end but they will be willing to let him go to get what they want.
And for the cherry on top, Harvey Weinstein, making a heroic return from his sex crazed addict re-hab will give a rousing speech in front of a massive pussy hat wearing Hollywood crowd demanding that Trump be impeached.
But rest assured, Trey Gowdy will be there to defend Trump and preserve our great nation. At least, right after he casts the deciding vote to impeach Trump.
It was the Jeb PAC that Rick Wilson headed that he was shopping the information as early as January ‘15. When Jeb quit after New Hampshire around Feb. 20 is when the funding quit to Fusion so someone clued in the Clinton campaign and they picked it up in April when it was apparent that Trump had the momentum edge.
So all that needs to be researched is who were the major donors of Jeb and Wilson and we will have the answer. I’m suspecting the Bush family or one of their benefactors because Jeb was getting hammered and their liddle boy needed a life preserver.
Congress is compromised, that’s pretty obvious to me. The DOJ and the complicit media who keep us in the dark, especially pre-internet days, are never held to account.
I do believe if any gov’t or public figure speak out too much, they are “dealt” with.
Sean Hannity better have good private security. We need him!
Gowdy you sum ****...Resign an get out of way...Does not matter who investigates
you don’t have foxes investigating chickens you moron
makes sense to me
“Theres a reason why nothing ever comes from Comeys barking. A Congressional committee investigation is a political matter, not a law enforcement investigation. Congress has almost ZERO law enforcement authority. At best they can simply refer a matter to the U.S. Justice Department for criminal prosecution.”
Thanks for pointing this out again, and again, and again....
Mueller was head of the FBI during the Uranium 1 scandal and kept mum. How can he be trusted with any investigation into the Russians?
Oh, btw, I wasn’t being facetious about this. “Thanks for pointing this out again, and again, and again....”
I was being serious.
Your clarification on Gowdy’s role needs to be repeated, as many people don’t seem to “get” it.
Here is your clarification again.
Theres a reason why nothing ever comes from Comeys barking. A Congressional committee investigation is a political matter, not a law enforcement investigation. Congress has almost ZERO law enforcement authority. At best they can simply refer a matter to the U.S. Justice Department for criminal prosecution.

Not want I want to hear from Trey Gowdy. This is what I am afraid of, a cover up.
I agree that it should be an interesting ride, but I also agree with those who say that Mueller is not fit for his position, and he should resign or be fired right now.
Maybe Mueller has dirt on him.
I admire Henry Hyde for sticking to his guns in going after Bill Clinton in the impeachment, even though he knew his affair might become public knowledge, as it did. (His wife was already dead by 1998 so at least she did not have to live through the revelation--I don't know if she knew about the affair.)
“Mueller was head of the FBI during the Uranium 1 scandal and kept mum. How can he be trusted with any investigation into the Russians?”
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.
Gowdy can ESAD.
If he thinks liberals would be happy with Jesus then he's delusional.
Gowdy usually talks a good line and everyone gets excited thinking that justice will FINALLY be served, but after NUMEROUS investigations by his committee, absolutely NOTHING has ever come of them.
“Is it remotely possible for Mueller to come clean”
Such hope won’t sprung. I thought highly of Mueller at FBI. See now hope was based on his low profile. One might say ‘what I didn’t know hurt me’.
I’m especially offended by Mueller being a Marine officer. He whizzed in his canteen, let him drink it.
Mueller is so trustworthy he stacked his team with 15 big-time Democrat-donor attorneys.
Let’s hope Gowdy I still only mouthing this for public appearances. But that does not look good.
