Under the cover of a farm lab, it is claimed North Korean chemists could be weaponising some the world’s deadliest diseases such as smallpox, Black Death and cholera which could lay waste to millions of people if an epidemic was sparked. Radio Free Asia cited a report released by Belfer Centre of Harvard University’s Kennedy School, which says the rogue state already has biological weapons.

Back around 2013, some folks found some leftover samples in a South African lab, after everyone felt that all samples were disposed of. I would make a guess that you can find hundreds of labs around the world that have samples packed away. Some aren’t aware of it...some probably have rogue scientists who just kept it for a private project.
I would suggest this...if any episode occurs and it leads back to North Korea...there probably will be a level of destruction laid down that would make the images of Berlin in 1945 look minor in detail. Even the Chinese have to be looking at this suggestion and be fairly worried about the nutcase in charge.
Even the Chinese realize germs do not respect borders.

Just find graves of small pox victims and go to work. This is especially scary since we’ve stopped vaccinating for it, although we supposedly have enough vaccine for the US population (anti-vaxxers to the end of the line!).
We can retaliate with nuclear weapons on such an attack since we signed away our chemical and biological weapons. That’s the law of warfare.
If the unleash smallpox on an unvaccinated population it won’t matter. The chaos created will do far more harm than a nuke. Hospitals and morgues will be overwhelmed and we will be so busy trying to hold society together it won’t really matter what happens to the norks. They will likel die in the epidemic they unleash along with the rest of us
I’ve read that people in the arctic who died of smallpox and were buried, decades later, upon re-examining their graves live smallpox virus was found. Same for flu of 1918.
Imagine the panic if smallpox gets unleashed. We might have the doses but distribution might be a nightmare.
Maybe this why the Chinese are getting tough on KJU.
And the lefties have the gall to advertise “Impeach Trump” ads on YouTube with one of their attack points being he has access to the nuclear button. Please. This coming from the people who allowed nuclear capabilities to go to a crazed communist dictator in North Korea and to dangerous Islamists in Iran. The lefties keep burying themselves with their utter stupidity.
Climate change is more important than a smallpox outbreak, don’t worry.
Cholera and the Bubonic Plague (Black Death) are both bacterial, and thus treatable with antibiotics, IIRC. Again, IIRC, Bubonic Plague still shows up occasionally in the western US.
So - Some truth and a lot of scare tactics in this article.
China and Russia have to realize that North Korea is a malignant tumor that could damage either of them by accident as badly as the damage they intend for us, Japan and South Korea. Instead they enable and support fat boy.
They “could be.” Sure. And Rocket Man could be a space alien, too, I guess.
This seems like nothing more than pointless fearmongering, to me - which makes me wonder who’s behind it, and why. Is it the McCain / Graham types, who seem to have some kind of sick lust for war?

The flu thing for 1918...involved them finding individuals in arctic regions who were buried and the research teams were a bit shocked to find that the frozen conditions kept the flu bugs still in a dangerous state. There’s a great book by John M Barry on the flu topic (The Great Influenza). I would highly recommend the book to understand the 1918 episode and what happened.
