WASHINGTON — A senior congressional aide who has been briefed on the deaths of four U.S. servicemen in Niger says the ambush by militants stemmed in part from a "massive intelligence failure."

The Pentagon has said that 40 to 50 militants ambushed a 12-man U.S. force in Niger on Oct. 4, killing four and wounding two. The U.S. patrol was seen as routine and had been carried out nearly 30 times in the six months before the attack, the Pentagon has reported.

Lot more bad folks in Meh-Hee-Co, and it’s a hell of a lot closer to the US.

What REAL reason could there be for sending out the same patrol on the same route at the same time with the same weapons, over and over and over? Somebody was INVITING an attack by a larger, heavier-equipped enemy unit. Somewhere in the COC is an Obama snake. IMHO.

In our movement, it was vital that we never did anything that would allow the enemy to predict where we would be at any future time. We would change azimuths frequently, dog leg, double back, anything that would prevent the enemy from predicting where we were going. Because, if we ever allowed the enemy to successfully predict where we were going, we knew the enemy would have a unit there waiting when we arrived.

“Technicals” are mean little machines. ISIS used them to invade Iraq.

I read that the US forces were not within their usual timeframe for their movements because they were delayed by an “incident” in the village. There is suspicion that they were delayed intentionally so that they could then be sitting ducks for a coordinated attack as they left, and at the same time, the usual support wouldn’t be automatically available.

I don’t know anything about what the normal procedure might be, but to me, just as an ignorant observer, it seems as if there may have been some inside help with the attack. Or poor information and seriously leaky security.

I think the other missions were to other villages. Some local leaked their route or timing.

Did no soldiers die during Obama’s 8 years?

Apparently, no.

But I remember during the Bush years, when every single death had a backstory. The evening news would post a picture of every death, including interviews with friends and family. None of that happened during the Obola years.

Tough to envision how Niger is vital to our national security or economic interests!

There are significant uranium mines there. They used to be under French corporate management/control. (I assume that’s still the case.) Plus we have said we are going to hunt down ISIS. Also SF’ers are in a lot of unusual places training the local military, gendarmes, etc.

My bet is that this is directly related to the Awan brothers spy ring.
