Five Reasons Why George W. Bush Is the New Jimmy Carter
Breitbart ^ | 19 Oct 2017 | REBECCA MANSOUR

Posted on 10/19/2017 8:12:58 PM PDT by Mr. Mojo

Former President George W. Bush appears to have discovered a new pastime: virtue-signaling.

On Thursday, the 43rd president piously delivered a full beat down on President Trump and the populist and economic nationalist movement that elected him.

Bush even traveled from Dallas to New York City to deliver it—just to make sure that nobody in Manhattan missed his message, which basically amounted to: I’m a good guy, unlike you-know-who. So look: I just dumped on Donald Trump! Please like me now, finally!

Yes, this is the same Bush who kept silent during the Obama years. But now that a Republican is in office, Dubya has found his voice.

In fact, 43’s quest for a post-presidential-image rehab is starting to resemble that of another failed-president-turned-full-time-virtue-signaler, Jimmy Carter.

Back in 1980, the 39th president lost the White House to Ronald Reagan in a massive landslide, and yet for the better part of four decades now, Carter has been taking potshots at his Republican successors, and the media have loved every minute of it.

For the sake of brevity, I’ll leave aside the horror that was Bush’s foreign policy, other than to say that his shortsighted hubristic foreign adventures cost America and our allies dearly in blood and treasure. The fallout will be felt for generations. But I’ll leave the chronicle of those tragedies for another day.

For now, I’ll confine myself to a few of Dubya’s domestic policy disasters. I had no trouble coming up with five off the top of my head. Please note that this is not in any way an exhaustive list of Bush Fails (as if such a list were possible).

The following linked article dates back eleven years (2006), and was considered dangerous territory for conservative thinkers back then, but the writing was already on the wall. It is worth reading in its entirety.

George W. Bush once lived at Myrrh St. and Santa Fe Ave. in Compton, Calif., a town his mother described as "lovely."

I, too, wish GWB would keep his mouth shut, but he did protect us from the Goron. That would have been an epic disaster.

Millions of people decided not to vote for the lessor of two evils anymore and stopped buying into the “don’t waste your vote crap”. We started voting for who we liked instead of following the herd.

Remember how GWB was very vocal in his Presidency about prematurely leaving Iraq and setting time tables to leave and how that would cause unrest such as ISIS? What did W say when zero was doing that during his first term? W said NOTHING.

Now W wants to talk about domestic politics and civility....as if Trump has outdone obama 100 fold!

I’m no 9/11 truther, but ya gotta wonder if dudya took advantage of 9/11 so he could bust some nation-building, globalist moves.

I would have said no until recently. I would have said that he believed the intel he was given and thought that to head off an even bigger crisis than 9/11 he really had to act. Wrong or right, he believed he was doing it for the safety of the nation. That's what I would have said. Because I believed that was what motivated him above all else.

Then recently the report on Saudi involvement in 9/11 was declassified and released. It was damning. The Saudis were up to their necks in funding and training the 9/11 terrorists and Bush knew it. He classified it and hid it. Then he protected them. I can no longer believe that his primary motivation was defending the nation because of that. I still don't know quite why he put Saudi Arabia ahead of the USA but he did. And once that became clear, well, the war in Iraq becomes problematic.

You see at the time W was making the case for war, he told us that he had intel that said Saddam had WMDs and that he was prepared to give them to terrorists. But he couldnt show us the intel. I was left to conclude that either he was telling the truth and the issue was urgent or he was lying and was therefore an evil warmongering bastard. I thought he was a good man so I assumed he was telling the truth and based on that judgement I supported him. Fast forward to now. Knowing what I now know about his character, I can no longer assume he was being honest about the need for the war. He has lost the benefit of the doubt. So now if someone said he started that war to engage in some nation building and it had nothing to do with protecting America from terrorism, well, I'd shrug and say "could be."

Why anybody would go hear a W speech is a good question
especially considering we know he didn’t even write it
himself. And a “why” question I often ask myself is why in
hell I ever wasted my time and breathe defending a
president who never attempted to defend himself. He not
only hurt himself he damaged his whole political party
because of his unwillingness to ever stand up to
detractors.

Bush stood by for eight years while Obama blamed him
for every bad thing under the sun. Now that he finally
found his gonads he pops off about a GOP president who
isn’t afraid to fight back. GW is an authentic
asshole in my book.

By 2003 it was clear that GWB was nothing more than a retarded baboon. Good riddance to that whole family. Jerry Sandusky will make a special guest appearance on “Sesame Street” before another Bush gets anywhere near the White House.
