Quentin Tarantino, the Hollywood director most closely tied to Harvey Weinstein, has known for decades about the producers alleged misconduct toward women and now feels ashamed he did not take a stronger stand and stop working with him, he said in an interview.
I knew enough to do more than I did, he said, citing several episodes involving prominent actresses. There was more to it than just the normal rumors, the normal gossip. It wasnt secondhand. I knew he did a couple of these things.
I wish I had taken responsibility for what I heard, he added. If I had done the work I should have done then, I would have had to not work with him.
Quentin Tarantino said he had failed to appreciate the seriousness of some actresses' encounters with Harvey Weinstein as have others in Hollywood. In this audio interview, Erika Rosenbaum, a 37-year-old Canadian actress, gives a detailed account of how Mr. Weinstein repeatedly used the lure of work to lead her into harrowing situations over a decade ago. Through a representative, Mr. Weinstein declined to comment.
Allegations of sexual harassment and assault by Mr. Weinstein were disclosed this month in The New York Times and The New Yorker, which prompted other women to share their accounts of his alleged abuse, set off criminal investigations, roiled the entertainment world and triggered a social media movement of women from other industries and backgrounds telling their stories.

Tarantino realized the “I didn’t know nothing” defense wasn’t going to work.
Also, he might have a few such episodes in his own past, as well.
He might be trying to get out front of this.
I don’t know, all these Hollywood types are pervs to one extent or another.
He’s also an actor. He had to “act” surprised like Matt Damon and his stupid “I have 4 daughters so I knew it was wrong” BS.
Bingo!
No doubt about.
It is an appropriate apology, but it is provided knowing this is going to expand far beyond Weinstein.
We should point out, men were not the only ones who covered for Harvey.
Many women did.
More than he did??? He did NOTHING!!!
Nope
He should feel more than ashamed, he should feel the cuffs, and the heat of the interrogation spotlight in his face.
Yep.
Pretty vile.
But, career, money, fame, popularity, celebrity, you know, those things that get in the way of that damn integrity
So why couch it like this? Obvious question: why did you not “do more?” Because maybe were were part of Hollywood’s debauchery?
Perhaps there is hope for Quentin - This sounds like a man in a confessional booth - he seems to ashamed to ask for forgiveness.
He’s not confessing to anything.
He’s not sorry for anything. He’s sorry he got caught.
He didn’t SAY anything because he wanted the money and fame Weinstein was providing - he wasn’t about to DO anything about it.
Cesspool.
AAAAAAGGGHHH!!!!!!!!!
