Imagine a gun registry law is passed nationally.
3 years later they take a tally and find only 40 million guns have been registered.
Only 10%?
Then what?
The Libs won’t advertise their failure!
BUT, The Pro-2A folks would be able to use the fact to laugh in the face of the tyrants and demand the useless law be banished.
Never said I played along.
Any idea what became of David Kopels lawsuits against these two laws?
Those who would hide their guns from government goons come to confiscate them, don’t understand the purpose of the 2nd Amendment.
“If so, I have to start promoting the term “The Pinheads in Phoenix”. “
“It’s not possible to confiscate 400 million guns from 150 million gun owners. Can’t be done, even if you tasked the entire U.S. military with the job.”
However, in case there is any doubt among those on either side of this debate, I take is as a holy duty to increase that number as much as I can, to encourage others to do the same (and to BLOAT, and practice), and to especially do so with non-recorded purchases and self-manufacture of sport-utility rifles (i.e. buying and drilling/routing out 80% receivers).
“So, I suppose I have to start “Clowns in Carson” then.”
“I’m gonna use “Retards in Richmond.” “
“Guns are much easier to hide.”
Plus, you can break them into pieces, bury them, or hide them in a closed container under water. Go try any of those with a person.
Besides, people require SOME interactions with others - interactions that can be tracked. Cashing checks, buying stuff online, going to the doctor or ER, buying a car, etc. I have seen firearms that don’t have such interactions for DECADES (which is a damned shame, of course, but it happens - and, more importantly for this purpose - it CAN happen).
“And dont forget the dickheads in Dallas.”
“LOL! During the 2010 census I/we got the long form but only did the bare minimum. That of course garnered a visit from some poor gal from the census bureau. She wasn’t happy when she finally left the driveway. Took a while for her to realize she was wasting her time. “
...I research my family history. Once I got a bunch of disks with a family tree program that included the 1870 census. I don’t remember where this guy was from, but oddly enough his name was “Fuck You.”
Must be related to George Carlin’s “Fuck of the MOUNTains.” [If you’re not familiar, listen to Carlin’s routine on the 7 words that you can never, ever use on TV - at least when he did the routine.]
“Those who would hide their guns from government goons come to confiscate them, dont understand the purpose of the 2nd Amendment.”
You know, in case 20 guys in ninja outfits with automatic weapons and a rocket launcher show up at your door at 0h Dark Thirty, and say, “Hey, there, Mr. Windflier, you neglected to turn in the 8 guns on this here list. Would you kindly get them and give them to us, buttstocks first? Because if you don’t, start, in about the next 15 seconds, we’re going to kill you, your family and your dog, and then get them anyway.” Unless you are a damned fool, you’ll comply...and a week or two later, when you are reasonably sure that they aren’t surveilling you any more, you’ll go to some friend’s or relative’s home, or to some deserted place, and retrieve one or more other guns (with appropriate ammo) that you hid away, just in case...and then you’ll be GLAD that you did so, too.
I agree.
It was a crime BEFORE the background check law took effect to KNOWINGLY sell a gun to a person who failed the Washington standards, which are pretty much equal to the Fed standards.
The Pinheads in Phoenix
I’m in a quandary. Nothing rhymes with Olympia. Can you help me out?
“Any idea what became of David Kopels lawsuits against these two laws?”
thrown out mostly on a “no standing” issue i think:
Doesn’t have to rhyme.
Onerous oligarchs of Olympia.
I hate to click the compost but I will.
Thanks
From the article”
“Im proud of the team in my office that fulfilled our legal role of defending state laws, Colorado Attorney General Cynthia Coffman said in a statement.”
That is disappointing. Her husband ain’t nothing to write hoe about either.
I have yet to see 'dire consequences' from a sale and a subsequent theft.
