LOL! During the 2010 census I/we got the long form but only did the bare minimum. That of course garnered a visit from some poor gal from the census bureau. She wasn't happy when she finally left the driveway. Took a while for her to realize she was wasting her time. 👹

Well, if someone did so task the military, that portion which obeyed would find out that Afghanistan and Iraq were calm and peaceful places in comparison to the Hell-On-Earth that the US would become - for them, and for their masters.

However, in case there is any doubt among those on either side of this debate, I take is as a holy duty to increase that number as much as I can, to encourage others to do the same (and to BLOAT, and practice), and to especially do so with non-recorded purchases and self-manufacture of sport-utility rifles (i.e. buying and drilling/routing out 80% receivers).

Yes, because they are smaller.

Plus, you can break them into pieces, bury them, or hide them in a closed container under water. Go try any of those with a person.

Besides, people require SOME interactions with others - interactions that can be tracked. Cashing checks, buying stuff online, going to the doctor or ER, buying a car, etc. I have seen firearms that don’t have such interactions for DECADES (which is a damned shame, of course, but it happens - and, more importantly for this purpose - it CAN happen).

...I research my family history. Once I got a bunch of disks with a family tree program that included the 1870 census. I don’t remember where this guy was from, but oddly enough his name was “Fuck You.”

It is what’s known as “reserves.”

You know, in case 20 guys in ninja outfits with automatic weapons and a rocket launcher show up at your door at 0h Dark Thirty, and say, “Hey, there, Mr. Windflier, you neglected to turn in the 8 guns on this here list. Would you kindly get them and give them to us, buttstocks first? Because if you don’t, start, in about the next 15 seconds, we’re going to kill you, your family and your dog, and then get them anyway.” Unless you are a damned fool, you’ll comply...and a week or two later, when you are reasonably sure that they aren’t surveilling you any more, you’ll go to some friend’s or relative’s home, or to some deserted place, and retrieve one or more other guns (with appropriate ammo) that you hid away, just in case...and then you’ll be GLAD that you did so, too.

It was a crime BEFORE the background check law took effect to KNOWINGLY sell a gun to a person who failed the Washington standards, which are pretty much equal to the Fed standards.

Suppose you sell a gun to a trusted friend -- no problem, right? Well, suppose someone steals it from him and shoots the victim in a holdup. You can bet your bottom dollar that they will have plenty of time to trace that gun back to you and there will be dire consequences...

I have yet to see 'dire consequences' from a sale and a subsequent theft.
