Police have dramatically changed their account of how the Las Vegas massacre began on Oct. 1, revealing Monday that the gunman shot a hotel security guard six minutes before opening fire on a country music concert — raising new questions about why police weren’t able to pinpoint the gunman’s location sooner.
Officials had previously said that gunman Stephen Paddock, 64, of Mesquite, Nev., shot Mandalay Bay security guard Jesus Campos after Paddock had unleashed his deadly volley at the Route 91 Harvest festival, an assault that began at 10:05 p.m. and left 58 people dead, with hundreds more injured.
They had credited Campos, who was shot in the leg, with stopping the 10-minute assault on the concert crowd by turning the gunman’s attention to the hotel hallway, where Campos was checking an alert for an open door in another guest’s room.
But Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo said Monday that Paddock shot Campos before his mass shooting — at 9:59 p.m. — and they now don’t know why Paddock stopped his attack on the crowd.

a few days ago there was posting of M Bay has roughly 200 security and any given shift has about 17 on duty. I don’t know if that was fact or supposition but i know it was in a thread a few days ago.
The two are not related. I think Paddock was into gambling as a way to launder money. But that’s just my opinion. I saw the leaked photos, he was clearly shot through the mouth. Now please explain a dynamic where someone can trip and get a rifle into their mouth and fire.

They’ll likely be checking to see if Campos knew Paddock previous to this and if it was on a personal level.
choking on his own blood from the shooting? You mean the suicide? No one ever shot at Paddock according to the official story.

The security guard was supposedly shot through the door by the perp firing 200 rounds. Bur he was hit only once?
This makes no sense. So after he is hit in the leg, he runs off or perp doesn’t come out into hall to finish Him?
I’d like to see where the security guard was standing and also see the 200 holes in the wall/ floor and ceiling from the other 199 that missed.
Also I remember the sheriff saying that there were 8 cops about thirty seconds behind the secunity guard in one of the initial press breifings.

I wonder when the picture was taken. It almost looks like they had to make another wound to get more blood out of him to make it look realistic, time wise.

Obviously I have no idea what happened - but it would seem to me that the shooter would want to stay quiet and not draw attention to himself prior to shooting.
They say the guard went to check on a door a few doors down from the shooter’s door - so I am assuming that that was by chance - or perhaps someone trying to trap the shooter. I imagine it will be easy enough for them to figure out who’s room it was.
I’m guessing the shooter saw the guard on his cameras, figured that somehow the guard knew what he was up to, and shot him.
I would also imagine that the guard radioed down that he had been shot. I would also figure that the hotel has some sort of protocol for that. Maybe call 911 for the deadly threat and the security team gets guests out of possible danger zones, makes them stay in place, etc.
Master Criminal Hat on - the shooter knew all of their protocols and used them to his advantage. Maybe some day the front desk guy will come forward and say “He seemed really afraid after that Pulse Nightclub shooting and didn’t want to come in anymore. He was asking all sorts of questions about our security....”
Sinister Crime Plot Hat on - the shooting was a diversion while his genius brother (cleverly putting on his “I’m an idiot” routine for the press) was downstairs in the vault stealing millions of dollars.
I do think that the security team is probably more of a defensive team, trying to get people to safety, etc. I imagine we will never know how many of them are actually armed.
How long was it between the time they fired en masse at the door to his room, and when they entered his room ?
Also if Paddock shot 200 rounds towards the guard, why did he stop and let the guard go, and how does a guard get away from 200 rounds was he in the Matrix or something? I’m not buying it.

Paddock ‘bled out’ from his mouth. You can see that in the crime scene photo. This does NOT mean he was shot in the mouth or even in the head for that matter. He merely bled out his mouth, could’ve been shot in the heart for all we know. They don’t show us anything beyond a head shot.
