Police have dramatically changed their account of how the Las Vegas massacre began on Oct. 1, revealing Monday that the gunman shot a hotel security guard six minutes before opening fire on a country music concert raising new questions about why police werent able to pinpoint the gunmans location sooner.
Officials had previously said that gunman Stephen Paddock, 64, of Mesquite, Nev., shot Mandalay Bay security guard Jesus Campos after Paddock had unleashed his deadly volley at the Route 91 Harvest festival, an assault that began at 10:05 p.m. and left 58 people dead, with hundreds more injured.
They had credited Campos, who was shot in the leg, with stopping the 10-minute assault on the concert crowd by turning the gunmans attention to the hotel hallway, where Campos was checking an alert for an open door in another guests room.
But Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo said Monday that Paddock shot Campos before his mass shooting at 9:59 p.m. and they now dont know why Paddock stopped his attack on the crowd.

Gaijin, is there a link to this info?
6 minutes is a long time.
Oh and the breach didn’t stop the shooter anyway. He was dead and had stopped shooting before they reached the 32nd floor. They climbed up the 32 floors of stairs btw.
I mean climbing 32 floors of stairs is gonna take a good five minutes alone with vests and guns.
Bet security guard somehow involved. Bet they never checked the security guard for GSR. Police got themselves got in a convenient lie
Here are the new details:
An unarmed security guard, an undocumented Dreamer brought unwillingly to this racist country by his parents, walks his beat at Mandalay Bay to detect alarms set off by open hotel doors (but which all have spring-tension door closers installed on them to make sure they automatically close).
On the evening of October 1, as he is walking his beat, he detects an open door in a corridor in which he sees a totally unsuspicious maintenance guy.
He hears drilling and moves toward the sound of the drilling.
Suddenly at 9:59 p.m a burst of 200 rounds comes through the door fired by a lone white gun nut using a silencer. Therefore, no one hears it.
He shields the totally unsuspicious maintenance guy with his body and brings them both to safety at the elevator bank, but gets shot in the leg along the way.
He removes his “I’m With Her” t-shirt to use as a make-shift tourniquet.
He radios his peeps at Security Guard Headquarters to say he was just shot but they don’t bother to immediately pass that on to police.
He hangs out nearly twenty minutes in the elevator bank until 10:17 p.m., when the elevator doors open and cops appear. He gives his master door passkey card to the cops, and helps conduct frightened gringos out of nearby rooms to safety until police insist he go seek medical help.
He is a humble guy, a very humble guy, and who does not want his experience to be used for political purposes such as sweeping new gun regulations and refuses to speak directly with any reporter for several days until he does a telephone interview with an MSM reporter, which they do not play on the air.
I had a relative that was on the Sheriff's department back in the 1970s.
Police/Sheriff known to be corrupt.
After all, the MAFIA helped build the Casinos and Las Vegas.
It would probably be MOB money that would be paying restitution for the victims.
Depends who owns the Casino/Hotel.
ok well that bit of info I did not know
Bump :)
Did he have a silencer??? (Major sarcasm)
That leaves the Hotel/Casino open to a major lawsuit...
Post 45 has some very valuable information: 200 rounds fired JUST AT THE SECURITY GUARD.
How can the Hotel not know something is going on?
My thought. Where are the Campos interviews? You’d think the media would be all over him, book deals, movies etc. For Campos it would be like winning the lotto. Leg wound? Was he ever released from the hospital? I never heard.
Ping me when they admit the shooter was affiliated with Antifa.
Campos may be smart enough to shun the media.
.
Not until the investigation is a lot further along, I hope.
“Us” seeing it advances the investigation not at all.
“While initially they said he had checked in on Sept. 28, three days before the shooting, they now believe he checked in on Sept. 25.”
And another WHAT??? They NOW believe? There should be no question about this.
Forget the sheriff.
He wasn’t there and frankly was saying a lot of off the wall stuff in retrospect. I liked him at first but now it seems as if he doesn’t know wth he was talking about.
However that is not a long time because you saw the video of the police body cams right? The cops had to get the the hotel then try to approach the building in the midst of bullets raining down on them then once inside climb all the way up 32 floors because the police commander, or whoever was in charge on the scanner audio I heard, specifically radioed to have MB shut down all elevators to prevent the shooter from being mobile, and the police would block off the stairs.
It’s not as if it took police twelve minutes to get to the hotel, but it took them some time to make it to the room from the outside when they’re being shot at trying to reach the hotel entrance, and one cop was even struck in his neck but still kept moving toward the hotel.
LA times placing the blame on the police. That’s some bullsh*t. But typical of the left.
#45 - Excellent post..!
That was hilarious and very condign.
I think it would take a special combination of circumstances to trip and get the muzzle of a rifle in one's mouth and then fire. A combination about as rare as winning Powerball.
Sounds like the police did not want us to know that the perp was discovered BEFORE he started shooting via security guard yet the swat team didn’t reach the room until well AFTER the shootings and deaths.
They knew there would be second guessing as to why it took so long to get up there since the guard was already there before shooting began. No one wants to be blamed for anything these days. So they lied about it? That is pretty low if true.
Since they knew the truth would come out eventually I tend to doubt they intentionally lied. This may have just been plain ol’ incompetence.
