Britain is reportedly preparing for the possibility of war breaking out with North Korea as concerns rise that another provocative missile test could trigger a military response by the US.
North Korea is being closely watched amid fears it could launch another long-range missile test on Tuesday to mark the anniversary of the founding of its ruling party.
Bellicose rhetoric from Donald Trump has heightened tensions in the region in recent months, prompting British officials to draw up military plans for a response to a break out of hostilities, it was reported.
Among the plans disclosed by the Daily Mail is the deployment of the Navy's newest aircraft carrier, HMS Queen Elizabeth, before it has undergone flight trials.
"We have plenty of ships to send… the Type-45 destroyers, the Type-23 frigates. Britain’s new aircraft carrier could be pressed into service early if things turn south," a senior Whitehall source told the newspaper.....

This from a Brit rag, the nation that sent Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain to meet with Adolf Hitler 15 September 1938 about German aggression. The outcome was British appeasement and the cession of the Sudetenland to Germany.
Good thing they didn’t use “bellicose rhetoric” against HItler in 1938. Otherwise, we might have fallen into a serious global war.
The Brits have NO AIRCRAFT for their new carrier...

We put B-25s on the Hornet, as I recall.
Used to have a grill that used crumpled up newspaper as fuel. Worked pretty well. There are also solar ovens.
The Saudis and that crew may send a token force. Canada used to help on things like this but I doubt they have enough on hand to really help out.

I know. They had one; about $244 at WM, with 5 cooking surfaces (one for pots and four on the grill) they were closing out for $82 several weeks ago. I couldn’t pull it off. If I could have done layaway, which they have, then it probably would have been possible.

I DID load up on their overstock charcoal ;ast uear. Most of my prep food is canned, etc. IOW, already cooked so there is that.
Yeah, could try to build a solar - cardboard and foil. There are a few trees around here that could be used for fuel.
I needed to get a good cast iron pot (have a couple skillets) with lid and make a hanging device for a fire pit.
I’ve still got a couple items for sale on Craigslist. That would finance it no problem if either or hopefully both sold.
Why take the Brits? They are not reliable as they once were, and nowhere near as powerful as the Japanese navy. Also the Brits have very little stake in the outcome.
