Police found a note in the hotel room of Stephen Paddock, the gunman behind the mass shooting in Las Vegas, that had hand-written calculations about where he needed to aim to kill as many people as possible.
In an interview that will be aired Sunday on CBS's "60 Minutes," Officer Dave Newton from the Las Vegas Police Department's K-9 unit said he noticed a note on the shooter's bedside table after officers entered the room. The note was next to one of the windows that Paddock smashed with a hammer to clear an opening to fire into the crowd from his 32nd-floor hotel suite at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.
"I could see on it he had written the distance, the elevation he was on, the drop of what his bullet was gonna be for for the crowd," Newton said. "So he had had that written down and figured out so he would know where to shoot to hit his targets from there."
Using semi-automatic rifles that he modified with a "bump stop" to increase their rate of fire, Paddock on Oct. 1 killed 58 people and injured nearly 500 others. Paddock, 64, killed himself with a gun before police entered the room to find his body and 47 weapons.
More than 20,000 people were attending the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival when Paddock began shooting into the crowd, which was about 400 yards away.

The food cart is permanently attached to ground? That's a remarkable food cart. Usually they have wheels and are easily moved.
Unless...the SAC got a call from McCabe, which is possible of course. Since we don’t know the way things normally stand between Vegas fbi and headquarters we wouldn’t know if there’s pushback.
In any event, McCabe still being there is baffling.
Obviously he believed in the second amendment. No words necessary. He sure wouldn’t be supporting Hillary. But so what....he wasn’t even registered that we know of.
Yeah, just because he didn’t find them at one place doesn’t preclude finding them later.
But I don’t think he used them as they are rather obvious visually. I heard no mention of them and saw none on the videos I watched.
They updated the story to say it matched one of his devices.
As if he couldn’t have put a couple more rounds into the security guard (yes, thankfully that didn’t happen) and roll the wheeled cart six inches over.
If he were a Trump supporter, CNN would have been reporting that 24/7 from minute one.
Yeah, sorry I don’t remember where I saw the new story that all the cords were now matched to Paddocks various phones.
And went right to one with the bump stock.
Do hookers charge their phones while theyre otherwise occupied?

Yes.
I wrote Maybe he was... I’m speculating.
Putting a food cart, with positioned cameras in your way of a fast exit seems a little bit crazy. Also the stairwell was blockaded so you could not enter from stairs. Supposedly it was still that way when police later viewed the cameras on the cart. One thing we have learned, never trust an aussie. Lol.
Near the end of this article at WZ they talk about the phone charger.
Geez....that’s a real dumb error because then everyone is looking for an electronic piece....and wasting a lot of time.
OK.
I’m guessing that the single shots may have been at the tanks. Taking aimed shots at a far object. And only 2(?) or so holes in the tanks.
Flags were lowered, moment of silence, and prayers.
He only figured once at guard. No where near 200 bullets, but who is counting.
Yes, I think the claim is BS myself. We heard quite a few times that this guy talked to nobody and was aggressively unfriendly. Yet now we have a story that he told a neighbor he was a Trump supporter?
I’ll need more evidence than that.
Either that, or maybe they overheated and he had to switch guns. There is at least one vid on YouTube where a guy had modded a semi-automatic, rips off 100 rounds, stops, and says “time for a new barrel”, or something to that effect.
