This reads like you’re proud of this. Here I was proud that finally conservatives had an upper had in the culture wars and were boycotting the games. I was proud to see the empty stadiums.
Serious question, exactly what are you proud of? I understand being proud when it’s a high school or college team and the players are your actual peers. I understand pride in America when something like what happened in Houston and Florida are resolved with so much ingenuity and skill. But why pride in a bunch of thug ball players throwing around a ball, while giving your fellow Trump supporters the finger? None of these fools had to respond to Trump last weekend, but every team did. They hate us. Why are you proud of any NFL team.

Perfectly stated. With the Cleveland Browns, that unintended consequence of narcissistic black racists acting out is quite clear. The young squad that supposedly had much potential has managed to get worse every week and drive away fans who have been loyal to lousy teams, year after year. Three members of the squad actually gave the black power salute Sunday during the anthem. The coach enables them.
The number that would tell the story best would be sales of NFL-sanctioned merchandise.
How will you KNOW if the whole team stands? A lot of us refuse to tune in anything NFL (or ESPN) to ensure they get the message. I won’t watch for the whole year (even playoffs and Super Bowl) even if they claim to have their act together. If they ain’t straight by next year, I will have already been weaned.....
