Leftist students at the University of California, Berkeley recently attempted to shut down their own mid-term exam, demanding a take-home exam in its place.
As seen in a video posted on YouTube, four students demanded a “take-home essay with significant time to prepare” instead of the scheduled in-class exam, though Professor Harley Shaiken adamantly refused their request.

Why don’t they just demand a passing grade and be done with it?

Yeah, why should you have to really learn, or retain anything, other than drugs, alcohol, and sex?
Whaaa, I want an open book and let my bi partner answer the questions in the privacy of our home.
Grant them their request. Yes, you can take this exam home. And, once home, you can stay there. Your grade is an “F.”

I have zero sympathy for the college. They stripped the kids of all their values and told them that it’s Ok to do whatever you want.
Demand a “passing grade”? You’re not thinking big enough. If I were them, I’d DEMAND a degree Magna Cum Laude today without taking another class, writing another paper, or taking another exam.
Then I’d march right into the next Google Board meeting and DEMAND that I be named the new Chairmanof the Board at $100 million per year salary plus bonuses.
That’s what I would DEMAMD.
I wonder when serious professors are going to start avoiding Berkeley?
I know high school teachers who have quite because their inner-city schools had no standards and they couldn’t keep control. Sounds like the same thing.

I agree with the professor in this case. When I was in college we had something kind of similar. The instructor screwed up the Scantron answer key and everyone got the same ten questions wrong.
When we called him on it, he refused to budge and check his scoresheet.
He finally told us that he would rescore them. If he was wrong, he’d correct our grades but if he was right. he’d reduce ten more points off everyone’s total score.
Little did he know that virtually the entire class had the next class together. It was taught by the dean of the Business School. our tests were corrected the next day.
These aren’t the typical snowflakes. They all speak with an accent and all 4 appear to be Hispanic (from the video). Illegals??? Maybe.

Exactly. Shut up, or you all flunk. Don’t like it? Sue me!
Why? Because the profs would see to it that they were near-impossible. You'd spend far, far more time, and have far less chance of passing, a takehome/openbook test. Just rip the Band-Aid off and get it over with, was a far better test taking strategy.
Of course, those were in real classes, where we actually earned grades, and had a real (70% or better) chance of flunking out. They weren't "fill-in-the-blank studies", or whatever passes for SJW snowflake school nowadays.
