An active shooter reportedly on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay bar Hotel in Las Vegas has gunned down at least one police officer and others.
The Australian newspaper is saying Marilou Danley holds an Australian passport and is possibly of Indonesian descent
Police said a suspect was apprehended on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel where he died.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said the authorities have not completed an investigation into Paddock’s background and history. But Lombardo said the police department had located a number of firearms in the room that he occupied in the hotel. Officers will also be carrying out a search on Paddock’s residence.
Investigators said they were searching for Marilou Danley, an Asian woman who was traveling with Paddock, to question her.
He called us as soon as he got out of the place before any news reports. It was quite some time before we were able to find anything on the news.
Thank God for FR, which I went to immediately knowing that Freepers would be on it and they have been. When Sheriff gave the license plate I knew that it wouldn’t be long before the name was available here.

You don’t need to go through any metal detectors to get to your rooms at any Vegas hotel I know of, including the Mandalay Bay.
The VIN tag/sticker/plate may have a color code also printed, but the VIN itself does not have a place for color. Manufacturer is irrelevant as the VIN is universal.
First digit - country of manufacture
2nd and 3rd - identify manufacturing company
4th through 8th - brand, engine size, type
9th - security check digit
10th - vehicle model
11th - assembly plant identification
last 6 - serial number/order of manufacturing

My understanding was that there was no detector after registering for your room, but there was one thru the front door.

Thanks fits the bill - imo. AK’s are pretty easily converted also but not for a novice, take a few skills.
Don't think so. Slide fire stock methinks. Possibly an auto glove. Probably pre positioned a few rifles with drums and picked up another weapon rather than reload.
First one was a 50-75 rd drum while music playing. Very slow reload to the next magazine. Probably not a second shooter which would start firing when the other shooter stops. Very VERY slow reload. Probably a slide fire stock or auto-glove that makes semi's bump fire (similar to full auto) and hard to reload.
There is a video on twitter that makes me believe this is an auto glove due to variable ROF (rate of fire) going up and down. Either that or there were two rifles being shot at once.
I don’t recall ever seeing metal detectors at tge entrances to Mandalay or the other strip hotels.
There are sonetimes checkpoints in certain interior areas to keep the riff-raff away from the rich and famous, and at the elevators (key card check), but nothing like at an airport.
Yes, somehow one of the VIN decoders I used knows that Toyota uses fields 4-8 in a very special way. It gave me the correct Toyota color code for a car being repainted, even though we can see that there is no specific field in the VIN for color.
Paddock was married and was in the process of getting a divorce but not from Danley, but another woman. (PER MSNBC, sorry that is all I have for national news)
I’m guessing it was security of some sort. The singer at the time said there was lots of security near the stage to keep people away due to the pyrotechnics set-up in the area.
It is crazy, but if they were grabbed for making those statements - one would think in today’s world that would be enough to get real cops over and hold them/ question them. At a concert I would think just telling people that “All of you are going to die today” (or whatever it was) would be enough of a terroristic threat.
But like I’ve said before - it is so unreal, so it becomes the ramblings of a nut-case. I forget the term - but it is dangerous to not view these unreal events as a possibility. Another Freeper talked about it quite a bit years ago. But we live and act our lives based on what it has been like. Never thinking that in an instant - it can go REAL BAD like this. (Or widespread civil unrest, long term power outages, etc.)
yes and the female person of interest works for hotel casinos. however Poddock could have easily stole it from her or borrowed it.

Huh, weird. If you know which one you use, private message it to me please. None of the ones my police dept use give color for any manufacturer, so extra tools are always good to use!
