Trump: NFL owners 'afraid' to take action against kneeling players
Fox News ^ | September 28,2017

President Trump, in an exclusive interview with "Fox & Friends," said that NFL owners are “afraid” to act against their players protesting the national anthem at games across the country.

“The NFL is in a box and they have to do something about it,” Trump told Fox News' Pete Hegseth, in the interview aired Thursday morning.

“I think they’re afraid of their players, if you want to know the truth,” Trump said.

In the same interview, Trump also touted the newly released Republican tax reform framework, describing the plan as the “largest reduction in terms of dollars in any plan in the history of the country.”

The president reiterated that the NFL has a wide range of rules, suggesting the league should apply new rules to those who would protest the anthem by kneeling.

“They have rules for everything—you can’t dance in the end zone, you can’t wear pink socks relative to breast cancer—they have rules for everything,” the president told Hegseth, a “Fox & Friends” weekend co-host and Fox News political analyst.

He added: “Why aren’t they honoring this country by enforcing a rule that’s been in existence for a long time?”

But he said, “I have so many friends that are owners, and they are in a box.”

Trump’s comments come after days of back-and-forth criticism with the NFL and its players for “disrespecting our country.”

Trump suggested that stadiums are “losing” fans amid the controversy. “The stadiums are losing—there are a lot of empty seats, I couldn’t even believe it,” Trump said.

Trump kicked up a firestorm over the kneeling protests last week, after criticizing NFL players for not standing for the anthem.

“Except in this situation, they might learn that the fans should have been the number priority.”

There is a way to change this. Deny the owners tax breaks for taking a loss on a sports franchise.

Let’s look at winners and losers.

Winners - Owners. They will just write it off. The Left. They wanted to get rid of the NFL for years. It seems to be happening. Existing players. They will all get paid.

Losers - Fans. A national pastime will be gone. Community. Those stadiums cost money and sales and jobs for local economy. The tax payer. They fund the stadium. Countless kids from youth through college who dreamed of one day playing pro football.

Anything else?

It’s also the position of victimhood - and playing the passive-aggressive victim is a power play and has become a very lucrative tool for making a living and securing power.

After the NFL uses its illegal monopoly to rip off broadcasters, ESPN rips off cable subscribers.

ESPN pays the NFL almost $2 billion a year. Even if you don’t watch ESPN, you’re paying $9 a month for it because of yet another illegal monopoly. If you subscribe to cable or live in a major city, the odds are good that your pocket is being picked by the millionaire racists “taking a knee” against America.

But the monopolies are dying.

ESPN is bleeding subscribers. The NFL’s anti-American turn is alienating fans, and cable is collapsing. (1)

You can help to put down the Illegal anti America National Felon League with two simple steps this week in your home without Congress or help from anyone else.

Disney owns ESPN!

What networks/? does Disney own?:
Disney/ABC Television Group. Disney/ABC Television Group operates Disney’s broadcast television, cable television and radio businesses. ...
ESPN, Inc. ...
Walt Disney Parks & Resorts U.S., Inc. ...
Lucasfilm Ltd. ...
Marvel Entertainment, LLC.

If freepers are really serious about this issue, they can do two things this week:

1. Cancel/cut their cable and go to a good internet to stream the tv shows they watch. Disney/ABC/ESPN and the above are owned by Disney. Each month they get a huge share of your monthly cable bill. Cut the cable, and they lose that monthly $ chunk/bite out of your bill. You will save a lot of money each month.
2. Use Sling Blue TV for streaming the channels you will watch. Sling Blue does not carry ESPN/Disney/ABC. So, the evil Disney/ESPN/NFL gay hate America liberals get nothing from you.

Talking tough and posting pompous threats on Free Republic are cheap and not effective.

Cutting their economic tv take at your home is like using a laser guided smart bomb to cut off/destroy their financial tentacles.

Without their monthly financial take from your cable tv, the NFL will fade away like a bad dose of the GI Trots.

If you really want to smack/hurt ESPN/NFL/Disney just do #1 and #2 above this week.

You will save a lot of money each month besides feeling better.

Almost Impossible to get them back once they have been jerked around like this.

Does it get any more patronizing and condescending than this? The black guy kneels, and the white guy puts his hand on his shoulder like he's some third grader who didn't win the school spelling bee.

The only thing worse would be for this guy Britt to bring a watermelon and a bucket of fried chicken out onto the bench for his teammate.

If the operations manual exists, and if the requirements for playing the Anthem and team behavior are there, then the commissioner only needs to do his job.

If the NFL thugs and owners don’t like the national laws re respect to our flag and national anthem. They should get them changed, like those, who don’t like our immigration laws should do instead of breaking the laws.

Yes there are laws/rules re how to behave when our National Anthem is being played.

“Those stadiums cost money”

They can find something to do with them.
Otherwise you are making the “to big to fail” argument?

I emailed three of the sponsors and told them I couldn’t buy their products in good conscience if they support an organization that disrespects our Flag and Anthem. Got responses from all 3. yada yada type, but with everyone saying a few words, it’ll get their ear.

Yes, they are scared. Even the players who don’t support the kneeling twits are being intimidated. Nothing like social justice to get one’s attention is there? I have a small hope that the more intelligent players understand the long term damage this is doing, and will start speaking up. I suspect that they understand the ramifications of life long ticket holders and loyal fans burning their tickets and memorabelia. These players grew up loving football, and they had their favorite players also, and wanted to be like them. The kneeling retards can be excused for not understanding it though. Bell curve and all that.

The only KNEELING team that won against a STANDING team was the New England so-called “Patriots”, who won against the cellar-dwelling Houston Texans by three points.

There is no way that game should have been that close.

You didn’t include the New England TURNCOATS.

I prefer the "Benedict Arnolds" or "Tories".

Good job.. we all need to do that. This isn’t going away unless the NFL admits their terrible mistake and begs forgiveness.

Bottom line on that picture, what a royal ass Jones made of himself. He could have been a man and stood on his feet. Of course your comment is on point also.

One more piece of evidence supporting what I’ve been saying in this forum. Blacks and whites simply cannot peacefully coexist together and the reason for this stems from the significant difference between their AVERAGE group IQ.

It’s a tragic and sad reality, but a reality nonetheless, and dealing with it by pretending it doesn’t exist or outright denial has led us to the cold Civil War we’re in today.

We need to accept that we have irreconcilable differences and end this toxic marriage that is bad for both sides.
