This starts an interesting train of thought, Spktyr...his fellow team members may not give him the protection he needs on certain plays or figure out some other way to harm or impede him during a game just to get back at him for not being "in solidarity" with them.
Have the spineless commissioner and owners thought of how letting the radical players continue their activism unchecked may split the teams into hateful and resentful "sides", no longer working as cohesive teams?
This whole "anthem" thing may spin out of control and cause so many bad effects that I don't even want to think about it.....it could become so harmful, chaotic, crazy and ruinous.

Let it become so. The false god of professional sports has been allowed to run rampant for far too long through the US. Even the Europeans don’t idolize their professional sportsidiots like the US has.

—VERY— interesting points; continuing that line of thought:
what happens when someone gets seriously injured as a result of a (supposed) team-mate’s deliberate negligence ?

About six or seven years ago I wrote a letter to NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell, and predicted that he would ruin the NFL as a business... Looks like he is fulfilling my prediction. Like Rush, I saw this concussion issue as one nail in the coffin of the NFL - for political destructive reasons. The media wants to promote soccer, which ESPN is already covering like they used to cover football... I suppose to be more like Europe et al.
As Rush is saying today, the NFL owners are favoring their employees over their customers - and demanding their right to do so. This cannot turn out well for the NFL. Like Rush, I have been a long-time fan of Sunday football... and, like Rush, I took next Sunday's tv listings and put an 'X' on the NFL games.
