A federal judge has dismissed a Minnesota couple's lawsuit challenging a state law for the right to refuse to shoot wedding videos for same-sex couples.
Chief U.S. District Judge John Tunheim in Minneapolis dismissed Carl and Angel Larsen's case Wednesday.
The St. Cloud couple, who own a videography company, Telescope Media Group, sued over a provision of the Minnesota Human Rights Act that bars discrimination by businesses.

Mistake. Should have said they are artists and only accept contracts they are artistically interested in.

I've always believed these types of businesses should avoid the legal hassle and go ahead and provide the service.
I can think of any number of ways of making the deviants, in the end, wish they'd hired somebody else.

They did not discriminate against the “gay” persons. Had they been asked to do a photo shoot for any number of events/gatherings for the “gay” couple, they wouldn’t have objected. It was not the “gay couple” that they refuse to serve, it was only the activity, the “gay wedding” that their conscience would not let them serve. They should win their case, eventually.

This is going to be a drawn out, Courtroom by Courtroom battle. Unless the other side (conservative) begins winning some big bucks in damages.

They’re going to appeal. This could take forever.

The term "public accommodation" in Civil Rights legislation was originally supposed to be limited to key products and services such as restaurants, hotel/motels, and gas stations, i.e. businesses that everyone needed to take advantage of if they were on the road away from home.
There were discussions among the congressmen, and specific congressmen only agreed to support the legislation with the understanding that "public accommodation" would never apply to all businesses.
Of course the penumbras of liberal stupidity and cupidity have now been allowed to envelop all businesses making a mockery of the original intent of the Civil Rights bills.

Let's say Westboro Baptist Church comes to town to hold one of their "God Hates Fags" protests at a local military funeral, an activity that
the United States Supreme Court has held is their Constitutional Right.
They try to hire a gay caterer to cater their protest, a gay t-shirt printer to print "God Hates Fags" T-shirts for them to wear, and a gay videographer to make videos of the protest for promotional DVDs.
None of them can refuse either, right?

Take their perversion to a moehammedan photographer and see what happens.
Oh wait... it has already been established that moehammedan bakers don’t have to do gay cakes in Dearborn Michigan.

You wouldnt happen to have Westboro on speed dial, would you? If they ever come to my town to protest at a military funeral I intend to exercise my First Amendment right to tell them to go f#ck themselves ...
... assuming that I still have any First Amendment rights.

Mistake. Should have said they are artists and only accept contracts they are artistically interested in. No, they should have said that their religion teaches them that homosexuals are aberrations that God makes a habit of destroying with fire from time to time, and that to associate with them is a sin.
Double down on the religious angle and then argue "First Amendment."

It was not the gay couple that they refuse to serve, it was only the activity, the gay wedding that their conscience would not let them serve.Sometimes the most briliant points are the most self-evident. . .or is it that we've become so confused, what was self-evident now seems brilliant. Anyway. . .Wuli, you've hit the nail smack dab on the head. It is the behavior we oppose, not the rights of the individual.

Give them what they want. Video their wedding and shoot just the guests. Shoot videos do all the guys butts. Want a cake? Make an ugly vulgar cake. They want to force people to use their artistic talents? They want to ruin their day, how do you prove it is not just artistic interpretation.
