We know, to the best of our senses and instruments, that the universe exists. How did it come into reality 13.8 billion years ago? In other words, what caused the Big Bang?
Roughly speaking, there are two possibilities: nothing caused the universe to come into being or something triggered it into existence.

Okay, Good question, but there need be no answer as we see God’s handiwork in His creation. The Bible pretty clearly teaches that the universe is a closed system, with various characteristics just like the weather patterns on the earth- Highs and lows are not individual climates, but simply the outcomes of the forces that act on the atmosphere, pretty simple in its complexity.
, we see the same things in space and time in the heavens.
So, if you look for God as a part of his creation, you’ll miss the best part- He made it, He is not “it”. Think of a fish in a fish bowl- he sees clearly in his water and everything in it, but the veil of the glass bowl distorts everything that he may perceive outside his world- so he looks intently at everything inside his system, trying to devise a rational for what he perceives may be outside. He cannot no matter how hard he tries- it is not within his scope to so do.
It is not hard to accept the premise that a created thing is separate and apart from its maker, take a potter or a carpenter or any “builder” for that matter. He makes stuff from other stuff, granted, he is not like God who made “stuff” out of his simple command. But the potter is not part of his pottery, but he may leave a signature or a telltale of his making of it.
Why would the Creator of something from nothing need a Creator Himself?
The Bible tells us that He is the “Self-existing One”, with no beginning nor end and that He created time space and matter because He wanted to Love and Bless an Object of His Favor. He is the “I AM THAT I AM”, The “Yud Hey Vave Hey” (Yahweh) Literally in Hebrew Pictograms the “Open Hands Nailed to a Tree”.
All of our efforts in logic and “science” ( that is another story for another time) cannot see past Creation to see God- and as He puts it, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”. Without faith one cannot see God.
Try a little faith- Ask God to reveal Himself to you so that you may know, seriously- scripture tells us to “diligently seek Him that He may be found” . He won’t make you a super man and give you physical “spirit vision so you can to heaven-He will offer you insight via faith and hope for an eternity future in glory with Him.
So, if you are sincere, you have an answer, if you are not, you’ll dismiss this commentary and trundle along until the day.... He indeed gives you the ultimate in freedom, to accept or reject Him- He loves you that much!
Best wishes and Kind regards.
God spoke it into existence.....either that or the scientists, that theorize that nothingness had no choice but to cause everything, are right.....
A variant of my own theory. A child (of God) got a universe kit for her birthday. Set up went well, but after a while it ended up in a closet, in the "on" mode but left to its own devices. There are few bugs. (Bio-life is a feature.)
I’m honestly not sure of the details but I’m sure it began with someone saying something about it all.
“I think God would laugh at that one.”
If God lacked a sense of humor he would not have created us.
Henry Morris commentary: "This distinctive name of God identifies Him as the one who is eternally self-existent. All created entities have a beginning, including time itself (Genesis 1:1). As creatures, we must reckon in terms of the past and future, but to the creator of time, all is present. He is transcendent to time as well as space."
Yes this is "mind-blowing" as mortals cannot comprehennd it. It is one of the secret things of Deut. 29:29: The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
The fact that we can’t conceive or understand infinity is evidence of a Supreme Being. Just the fact that He always was and always will be is too difficult for us to imagine.
The “Great Attractor” is the apex of a gigantic black hole through which the entire universe is falling.
Galaxies which are “farther down” the hole appear to be receding from us because they are moving faster than us.
Galaxies for which we are “farther down” also appear to be receding because we are moving faster than they.
The “Big Bang” is the event horizon of this black hole.
To all;
Here is a resource via a friend who passed it on to me:

I found it to be full of great detail and insight- and so much easier than reading “SUMMA THEOLOGICA”, that great apologetic book by Aquinas.
So, what’s behind THAT curtain? Where did that come from? You avoid the question of origins and punt the issue into another ‘science”-based tortuous tale....
Cyclic reasoning is, well, boring.
The Big Bang happened just after the Big Dinner and a couple of drinks.
What are you talking about?
I never mentioned a curtain.
My reasoning isn’t cyclic - please show me where it is.
There is no “universe.” This is all just a dream I am having.
I think therefor, I am.
Only precursors to general knowledge.
I love (/s) these stories, as they really drive home the point about limited intellect in otherwise smart people.
1. Assertion that the universe is limited in size,
2. Likewise that the universe is limited in age.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth...
That initial Bible verse contains time, “in the beginning “, space,”the heavens”, and mass “and the earth”. Complete requirements for creating the universe, life came later of course and is also explained. These Biblical explanations on creation are physically “scientifically” sound. Also, consider that there has never been uniquely created since creation. Only God can do these things and the Bible is the original truth in this physics...
God was not created, as He said when asked who He is, “I AM”. The question posed presumes time as an always existing dimension. It is not, God created time...”In the beginning” is a truly complete and accurate description of when time was created by an eternal, infinite God.
God has always been. He is eternal. I you knew Him, you would know the answer to your question.
It is clear how the universe came to be.... In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth....
