President Donald Trump argued that allowing DACA recipients to stay in the United States would not be amnesty. “We’re looking at allowing people to stay here,” Trump said to reporters in Florida on Thursday.
He insisted that his deal with Democrats on DACA recipients would not be amnesty.
“We’re not looking at citizenship, we’re not looking at amnesty,” Trump said.
On Air Force One however, a White House spokesperson confirmed that “legal citizenship over a period of time” for DACA recipients would likely be part of a deal. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi insisted that the plan would offer them a “path to citizenship.”

Correct me if I’m wrong. DACA will expire in 6 months. Anything involving immigration will have to be done legally, through Congress, subject to Presidential veto. Congress has proven unable to do anything together. If nothing passes, Trump gets to blame Congress, DACA expires, and all is well.
Giving illegal aliens anything at all before giving America a wall is NOT putting America first.

DACA pearl clutching guide
All illegals should be deported including DACA. Before judging Trump, envision what would happen once mass deportations started. Nightly videos of tearful Joey or sheepish Maria handcuffed with crocodile tears and begging to stay. Trump would be neutered because neither party supports upholding the law. Moderate voters would jump ship. And all politicians would finally have the justification they’ve been seeking to never work with Trump on anything for the next 3 years. Republicans have proven they will not move legislation already. For those believing Trump is a dupe based on daily tested and measured propaganda, they probably also believe the best way to get a pay raise from the boss is go in demanding money or else...often followed by a pink slip. Negotiations never work unless you make the other party ‘believe’ they are doing well. So instead of shining your pearls, call your Senator AND Congressman weekly and tell them what you want! Trump is doing what he can, he could do a lot more if the thousands of armchair quarterbacks bitching at every missed open receiver would get off their ass and mouth off to the people who need to hear it, our P.O.S. Congress!
