The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill Thursday that will provide $1.2 trillion to fund the government past Sept. 30, and will allocate $1.6 billion towards President Donald Trumps border wall.
The legislation gives $658.1 billion to the Department of Defense, $44.3 billion for the Department of Homeland Security and allocates the rest of the money towards other federal agencies. The bill lops all 12 annual spending bills into two one piece of legislation.
If Congress failed to act by the Sept. 30 deadline, portions of the government would be forced to shut down and all non-essential government employees will forgo payment until they reached an agreement. The bill now makes its way to the Senate for approval.

$10 to $12 million PER MILE (on average) would fund a full construction project with all overhead and a strong design.
Most likely $10 to $12 BILLION would fund a basic (but largely complete) wall program, which would be more vulnerable to cost overruns, or with a simpler design that is more easily circumvented.

I'm interested in results. Now we get to see what all that 38DD chess is good for. I saw a girl in Vegas doing 38DD chess once.
What...?
Oh, you mean the game!

It is a measly amount anyway. But it goes nowhere. But Amnesty will sail through with the lie that it isn’t amnesty unless you have to give one your house.

"Savings from the wall being there, would work to pay for itself.
I also believe that as the wall starts being built in earnest, Trump will come up with a plan to get Mexico or people sending money to Mexico to pay for it."
Appeal directly to the citizens of Canada for contributions to help pay for wall construction. In the long run it might save them money on a need to build one of their own.

House Agrees To $1.6 Billion For Border Wall
The wall will cost about $12 billion. $1.6 billion is a small percentage of that.
We will never ever see another penny for a WALL after the $1.6Billion. How many miles will that build? And NO I will never be happy with just "INCREASED BORDER SURVIELLENCE" as we were promised in in 1986 and again when GWB was President. Border surveillance can be made to disappear with each new Congress and each new President.
IF TRUMP DOES NOT GET FUNDING FOR A WALL - OR HAVE MEXICO PAY FOR IT - HE IS A ONE-TERM OR LESS PRESIDENT. As GHWB famously said "READ MY LIPS, NO NEW TAXES" and then raised taxes.

So they threw in a pittance for all you bitter clingers and deplorables. Now go outside and play and let the adults carry on with their shenanigans.

Is anyone aware nothing has actually happened? If the replies and fake conservatives are so concerned then pass a hard right bill, I’m sure Trump will sign it. All these people know how to do is complain which is why Trump is working with the only party capable of getting his agenda impacted...even slightly watered down
To: clearcarbon
I think we should focus on the main culprit nation.
You’re thinking outside the box and I appreciate that.
It wouldn’t be that hard to collect $20 billion dollars.
At 5%, we would rake in roughly $1.5 billion a year off Mexican money transfers.

Trump is getting the wall for DACA. That’s the deal. Dems can’t say that out loud. But here suddenly comes a wall-funding from the House. I expect this to sail through with bi-partisan support.
