President Trump on Thursday denied that a deal was reached with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi over DACA, or the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
The two Democratic leaders announced after a dinner meeting with Trump on Wednesday that a deal had been reached.
We had a very productive meeting at the White House with the President, they wrote in a joint statement. The discussion focused on DACA. We agreed to enshrine the protections of DACA into law quickly, and to work out a package of border security, excluding the wall, thats acceptable to both sides.
The president took to Twitter early Thursday to explain that wasnt true.
No deal was made last night on DACA. Massive border security would have to be agreed to in exchange for consent. Would be subject to vote, he wrote.

The WALL, which is already under construction in the form of new renovation of old and existing fences and walls, will continue to be built, he added.

He then followed up suggesting he did not want to see Dreamers kicked out of the country.
Does anybody really want to throw out good, educated and accomplished young people who have jobs, some serving in the military? Really! They have been in our country for many years through no fault of their own - brought in by parents at young age. Plus BIG border security, he wrote.

There are approximately 800,000 illegal immigrant minors who are currently being protected under the DACA program.
President Ronald Reagan and President George W. Bush were the two exceptions and I plan to make President Trump the third one.
BTW President Reagan was the first president I voted for and I have never voted for a rat candidate, and never will
Greensea has been zotted. The ride of Viking Kitties has begun!
Sure sure, what ever you say.
Trump IS pushing DACA. Whether you like it or not, he is. Whether you acknowledge it or not, he is.
DACA should have ended January 20. It didn’t. Now in September Trump has extended it another six months. He wants Congress to enact a “DACA bill”.
DACA is lawlessness. And Trump has continued it.
I believe this election was very unique, because I don't think there was ever a situation like this before.
I voted for him for the obvious reason that he anything was better than PIAPS, and because he supplied the list of potential judges.
2A and SC judges were and are my primary concern.
I don't think Trump has any interest in messing with the 2A so I'm OK with him there.
The judges looked good on paper and Trump's word seems to be good on them. Once he appoints them and they are confirmed, he can't "evolve" somewhere down the road.
AFAIC, Trumps doing OK-within my limited field of concern.
I'd like to see him do what he guaranteed concerning the invasion of illegals we are experiencing, but in spite of what he said/promised/hyped, I didn't expect much from him on that count.
He’s not pushing DACA?
HAHAHAHAHHAA!
He should have cancelled the first day in office.
Back and forth, over and over numerous times is flip flopping. Changing your mind once is not.
It goes further than that. NeverTrumpers are those who STILL oppose him, and anything his administration opposes no matter how conservative.
Really? You think you have to belong to one of those two groups to think there won't be a wall built (or at least like the one that was promised)?
I think it's you that is spinning. The writing has been on the "wall" for a LONG time. If you think for ONE SECOND (or even 2) that the GOPe is going to craft a plan that includes building a wall and shutting down the Chamber of Commerce...your nuts.
Trumps mistake was this: The thought he was going to run the White House like he ran his businesses. He was going to dictate how it was going to go and the congress was going to fall in line. He now understands he had to cooperate with congress and since the GOPe won't work with ANYONE (because they will alienate their idiotic base and lose election)...he will now work with dems and a few republicans.
I know that.
Viking Kitties you are needed here. We have been lax lately. Do your duty.
Alas, poor Greensea! I knew him, Horatio: a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy: he hath. borne me on his back a thousand times; and now, how.” (Apologies to Shakespeare)
Zot!!!
Playing along to get along. . . .not a good idea. Look where it has gotten us in America.
Flip-flopping is going back and forth, and that sure looks like what he’s doing with DACA.
Which is it? Protection for DACA or what he promised his electorate he’d do on his first day?
Looks like he’s doing both in those tweets from just today and I’d call that flip-flopping.
Yep
:) Looks like he’s hanging out with Yorick now.
You are so right.
