A Washington Post analysis puts Murphy near the top of the list. Murphy has said he doesn't want higher office at this time.

Sen. Chris Murphy’s name is near the top of a list of potential Democratic challengers for the 2020 presidential race, according to a recent analysis by the Washington Post.

Murphy appeared third on the Fix’s list behind former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Here’s part of what the Post had to say on Murphy:

Murphy appeared before more well-known Democrats, such as outspoken Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker and California Sen. Kamala Harris.

As a CT resident, he has always been a jerk. I actually had his staff confuse the difference between a bill, law and regulation. I asked for clarification on it and the three are not the same. All I got was a lecture from some intern who proudly said they “graduated froms Brigeports High School where I pass my US American historys class” on how I was wrong.

Straight White Male democrat. He can’t win with that party nationally, anywhere outside his rich, white-privileged state.

“without seeming like too much of a Northeastern liberal. “

In other words, he’s a Northeastern liberal, but in measures acceptable to other Northeastern liberals. Red-staters will hate him, but he might carry Pennsylvania and Michigan if they are no longer happy with Trump—oh, right.
