A Washington Post analysis puts Murphy near the top of the list. Murphy has said he doesn't want higher office at this time.
Sen. Chris Murphys name is near the top of a list of potential Democratic challengers for the 2020 presidential race, according to a recent analysis by the Washington Post.
Murphy appeared third on the Fixs list behind former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders.
Heres part of what the Post had to say on Murphy:
He's also got clear progressive bona fides on gun control and fighting Trump without seeming like too much of a Northeastern liberal. He says he's not interested in running, but nearly everyone thinks he'd be an instant contender.
Murphy appeared before more well-known Democrats, such as outspoken Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker and California Sen. Kamala Harris.

He’s not a minority. He’ll be trounced by K. Harris.
As a CT resident, he has always been a jerk. I actually had his staff confuse the difference between a bill, law and regulation. I asked for clarification on it and the three are not the same. All I got was a lecture from some intern who proudly said they “graduated froms Brigeports High School where I pass my US American historys class” on how I was wrong.
Straight White Male democrat. He can’t win with that party nationally, anywhere outside his rich, white-privileged state.

Noooooooooo . . . we want Maxine Waters to run. Run Maxine Run.
Kamala Harris is our girl. She is a twofer.
Constitution? Democrats? LOL, that is some; funny stuff.
Murphy is another Democrat nut (any Democrat national politician named either Murphy or Murray is a nutcase from Patty to Dan, etc).
They trot out these losers only to get the metrics on possibilities.
A poofter-enabler? Well, that would explain the Democrat love.
Maxine Waters would be awesome.
Man that photo proves politics is that’s theatre for the ugly
Who?
No. Warren! Warren! Warren! Faux-cohantas all the way!
“without seeming like too much of a Northeastern liberal. “
In other words, he’s a Northeastern liberal, but in measures acceptable to other Northeastern liberals. Red-staters will hate him, but he might carry Pennsylvania and Michigan if they are no longer happy with Trump—oh, right.
Mister Rogers with brain damage, or zombified and resurrected. Take your pick.
I’d like to see John Kerry run again. He’s so cute when he’s humiliated.
Tanning booths. Lip implants. Problem solved.
“...America deserves her restoration of testosterone, in Trump...”
Nicely stated. Well done!
