The Talk Shows
Sep 10th, 2017
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator Brock Long; Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla.; Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas.
THIS WEEK (ABC): To be announced.
STATE OF THE UNION (CNN): Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.
After reading through that lineup (especially McCain & Bernie) all I could think was how sad it must be at those media offices to have to try to regain even a feeling of relevance with drivel like this.
Might as well do reruns of Laugh In or the Gong Show.
In fact, that Roku we got for the gkids to watch probably has those shows......
Last week was Hawaii Five O...new one....love it...
Glad you’re safe. Hope your house makes it through. The libs think it is because you voted Trump, they don’t explain the 48% who voted Harpy.
Another Roku owner here w/SlingTV “Blue”.
Roku has most clips from FOX News and FOX Business shows - no need for cable.
I've been impressed with Roku ever since I got ours years ago.
Although they have it, never mind FOX, Roku is one great source for OAN...we watched virtually every Trump rally on OAN, and they continue to carry the post-election Trump visits live. They have rapid-fire comprehensive news, at least four times as much as any other network.
Their commentators are hard hitting conservatives...and although they are fair...there is none of this "fair and balanced" crap.
Grahm Ledger: "Even when I'm wrong...I'm right."
How is the family taking it. Well, you know, it's tough. They get included in conference calls with doctors. I get best treatment anybody could get. I'm very happy, happy with life, celebrate!
Tapper reflects on 200 campaign, and on the plane which as a bucket of bolts, McCain was in the aisle drinking a glass of vodka saying "they can't kill me in a plane." Does this compare?
When do you find out if the chemo and radiation worked? On Monday there is an MRI.
McCain sounds good - lucid, not slow or muddled speech.
Issues: you urged Trump to work in a bipartisan fashion, he did, and you voted against him, why? McCain says it wasn't bipartisan, the GOP wasn't on board. The plan that Trump just accepted had been categorically rejected by Ryan. McCain objects to some military aspect of the agreement, which freezes last year's funding. Tapper moves that to "readiness" and brings up the recent collisions, and asks "why is this happening?" McCain says because of spending cuts, especially readiness and training.
McCain says after WWII, we designed a new world order that requires the US to have a stronger military.
Tapper changes subject to NK. McCain says we can't live with nuclear NK. McCain says it is up to China to put the brakes on NK. McCain then goes on as though NK will have nuclear capability, and proposes better missile defense.
Tapper changes subject o immigration and DACA (children here through no fault of their own), should Congress codify DACA, and give them citizenship? Yes and yes. McCain says should be part of comprehensive immigration reform. Uses the 900 dreamers in uniform as example of why deportation is ridiculous for all.
Tapper uses Irma as a climate change segue. Trump and Governor Scott says climate change is not man made, but the overwhelming consensus of scientists is that it is. McCain says he doesn't know why they (climate change deniers) think that way, but moves to advocate nuclear power generation. He claims solar power is less expensive compared with fossil fuel.
McCain starts to ramble, goes to health care and founding fathers and says that partisanship doesn't work.
Tapper's last question is "how do you want people to remember you?" "He served his country," says McCain.
Democrats.....now these past two major hurricanes in states run by Republicans....doing great job.
Good point, Pat! Yet even as New Orleans flooded (due to mainly local incompetence with the levees and pumps) during Katrina, the Mississippi coast was hammered by the full force of her, much more so than the nearly Louisiana coast, which was in the mainly lee part of the West.
Having suffered MORE damage, and totally ignored by the driveby media due to New Orleans and the Bush and FEMA screwing up meme, the Mississippians were able to get back up and get to work, cleaning up Biloxi and Gulfport, Pass Christian and other coastal places, long before the New Orleans government even figured out a plan.
Why?
Mississippi was/is Republican-led.
LOL!
Too right. They’re pathetic, aren’t they?
I laugh as they try to rescuer their credibility.
Guess what, Driveby’s—that shipped sailed LONG ago!
by the time it hits ala. its extratropical with only tropical characteristics little punch.
I love the villages 60k homes and everyone has a souped up golf cart that burns rubber.I’m singing the Villages song as well!!
Thanks very much FR is so good I actually had eight difference Freepers offer me a place to stay, just unheard of.
Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas and Gov.Rick Scott here in Fla. have done a terrific job managing their states in the midst of huge disasters. Pres.Trump is right there as well giving each governor exactly what they need.
Gov. Scott talking about how he has the presidents cell number and is in constant contact with him. You just don't hear about it. We have some truly great leaders.
McCain can wish and hope all he wants, but he will be remembered in one of two ways. People who don't know much about him will remember him as the guy who cast the deciding vote to keep Obamacare in place. People who know about his entire life will also remember that he was the first (and hopefully last) reverse Ace in the history of the US Navy.
"He served his country"? in order to start doing that, John McCain would have to resign his Senatorship, go home and find a useful hobby to pick up, and allow some decent human being the chance to be the new Senator from Arizona.
Yeah right you corrupt dirthole...and the rest of us can GO TO HELL!
“He served his country” the same way “To serve man” is a cookbook.
Unless, of course, it makes landfall further West. The Pensacola landfalls always clobbers my power for days.
We haven’t had damage from a storm directly since Opal in 1995. She tore up my pecan trees, leaving me only 4 from 16 full mature and profitable trees. Ivan cut my power for ten days.
I'll agree with McCain on that. He did, indeed, serve his country. He just didn't do it very well.
I think he’ll be remembered more as the LOSER to Obama and the perfect foil to him. He NEVER challenged Obama on many, many mysterious and unusual things that should have seen daylight.
And then he picks Palin and scurries away when the media assaults her.
It was as if McCain wanted Obama to win...
Actually, his country "did more for him" than he "did for his country".
FUJM!
Ha ha Cboldt.....what a great show that was.
I’ll tell you how McCain is going to be remembered. Might be as long as a year after his death but the truth about John McCain will come out.
First, McCain is a Republican John Kerry, a nothing burger from a famed family but missing the good genes and chromosones, a fake who set up every damn thing he did in life towards the stellar political career he sought.
We will learn how low he was in his air force class, how he crashed his plane in Viet Cong territory and those arms of his were caused by that crash, NOT by torture from the Vietnamese.
And for sure we will learn about that horrible crash McCain had on that aircraft carrier that caused the death of over a hundred men.
Oh, and do NOT forget that most famous and mesmerizing of all the laws ever passed in the history of the country...CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM!!!
I always like to mention this because that little sideshow was EXACTLY the sort of thing a fake like McCain does.
Nobody in America gave squat about campaign finance reform. But the political elite sure cared about it and the political elite is all McCain ever cared about.
He got some dipwad Democrat to co-sponsor it and I remember it well, constant coverage from the drive-bys of the era and how I scratched my head and wondered why I should care about such a thing.
IT SOUNDED GOOD IS WHY!!!
John McCain, fake candidate and zero, zero, zero, his last zero act being flipping us the finger and voting against repeal of Obamacare.....John McCain, the Republican John Kerry.
