WASHINGTON Progressive House members promised Friday afternoon that Democrats will support a government shutdown and not increasing the debt ceiling if there is not a clean vote on the Dream Act by Dec. 15.
In an emotional press conference with progressive and immigrant activists, Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) said Democratic House leaders have told him they will support stopping the government to protect 800,000 people whose status has been in limbo since the Trump administration announced it will suspend Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals in six months.

Good, let the representatives of fraudulently documented foreigners identify themselves clearly to the citizens.
Shut it down, I won’t miss it.
That’ll help them with regular voters in 2018.
Yes, shut it down. NO AMNESTY! Deport these illegal aliens and their illegal alien families. End of day the are all illegal. The media seems to miss this and suggest the kids are alone or are kids of legal residents or citizens. They are not. My wife thought they were American citizens of illegal parents. A lot of misinformation. These are illegal kids of illegal parents They and their families need to go, deported.
Good let them shut it down. Will be hard to blame it on Trump since he cut a deal on the whole thing and also told Congress to come up with a plan on the DACA thing. So it is all on them and Trump needs to go on the offensive on this.
Shut it down.
No, please don’t do that! /s
Democrats: We will shut down the government!
Democrats: We mean it! We’ll shut it down!
Democrats: Here we go! Shutting down!
Democrats: There! It’s done! Totally shutdown!
Media: I can’t believe Trump shutdown the government. That heartless SOB.
That was the whole point of throwing the DACA policy back upon the Congress.
The “Dreamers” program was NEVER established by legislation, and in fact, had been voted down several times before the Former Occupant of the White Hut just unilaterally imposed it.
In no form shall the provisions of the DACA policy, as it now stands, ever survive a pass through the House and Senate by such a margin as to be able to override a Presidential veto, and it it does, then things are at a worse pass than ever I imagined.

Does that mean illegals and the “Dreamers” won’t get their “free” stuff? Just wonderin
The government needs to be shut down for awhile. Do we really have a government any more?
Which reminds me of something. I never had any exposure to Bill O'Reilly before except passing reference here on FR. Now I often hear him on Glenn Beck and am impressed with him. He was talking about his new book today, "Killing England" - not what I thought about the one across the pond but the historic one.
Anyway, Glenn Beck keeps interrupting him when he starts to say something really important and interesting. Did a couple times this morning. It really made me mad when Bill said the disability system was a bigger scam than a relatively puny amount for (some other govt program can't remember) and trailed off because he was interrupted again. Maybe his website will have something.
It's chilling some of the things he has alleged about liberals and just how far they will go to ruin a person. In his case, he said he didn't fight back because he feared for his family. What have we come to? I believe him.
I would have loved to hear what he had to say about disability because I have seen the abuses which are only the tip of the iceberg imo.
On McConnell's first day as Majority Leader, he (proudly!) unilaterally took this card off the table.
All it did was enable the Democrats to act more boldly.

dems want to shut down the government and the illegals want to burn our homes and businesses for following federal law.
Sounds like an attempt at nullification and blackmail to me. Blackmail is illegal, and that nullification stuff died in 1832. Somebody needs to get their heads on straight.
Yes for the win!!!
Then shut her down and deport all the illegal aliens...
Go ahead. Make my day.
Finally! Some good news...
