If climate change is a given, whats the best place to live? Or, maybe, the least-worst?
Its not an easy question. Just asking it feels somehow simultaneously obvious and alarmist.
Theres no place to hide from global warming, by definition. And until recently climate change wasnt supposed to be a given.
If you were on the right, it wasnt supposed to exist. If you were on the left, it was supposed to be something humanity could put the brakes on. If you were in the middle, it was one of those things to worry about later, like your 401(k) or North Korea.
So where to outrun the coming catastrophe? And is it possible for a Californian to outrun it and still be in California? Titley, who has lived in Monterey and San Diego, but now lives in climate resilient Pennsylvania, was one of several climate scientists who generously shared their perspectives with me.
The good news is, California knows how to do this, Frances C. Moore, an assistant professor of environmental economics at UC Davis told me. The whole state is already engineered, and rich enough to double down, if needed.
As relatively wealthy places, the United States and California are in a better position to manage the adverse consequences of climate change, Moore reminded. Californias grid is set up to supply air conditioning to hot places. Infrastructure is a core competency in this state. And, most crucially, policymakers get its importance.
We know we have a problem, and we know that we can reduce greenhouse gases that are a primary driver, Moore said.

Al Gore’s energy-fed, massive carbon footprint mansion.
Many of whom are gay.
Shep Smith - FOX
Gio Benitez - ABC

I question that gay has anything to do with Shep and Gio being coprophiliacs. Please explain.
California really ought to be concerned about Kim dropping a hydrogen bomb on their asses. But I’m sure they won’t worry about that because it’s a real thing. They only worry about fantasies in California.
LOL!...They are just two of the many I could name off the top of my head............and to think Shep and I were raised in the same place.....................
Number of Trump votes by state:
1. Texas 4,685,047
2. Florida 4,617,886
3. California 4,483,810
The disrespect of California’s many conservatives is less than intelligent
Oh yeah, good catch. The article acts like California is the only state that needs to be cooled down. LOL
Is it just me or are liberals getting more and more ridiculous?
LIBs are malignancies wherever they gather...in any civil society.
I’m glad your UPC’s worked. That sort of thing can cause a lot of damage.
DOUBLE DITTOS!
You leave Idaho out of this...we have enough idiots in Sun Valley.
For some reason, a little before 6 am this morning, we had a quickie blackout. Everything connected to the UPC’s stayed on.
I use high end circuit breakers for all our electrical products. An engineer with PG&E, is like another son. He recommended the high end circuit breakers year ago.
Before the smart meter arrival, we were ready to buy a natural gas emergency generator just to keep everything going with all the blackouts we used to have,
This young man told us to wait until the smart meters were installed before we went for that big expense.
Now the blackouts are rolling blackouts and seldom last more than a few minutes. Of course that creates problems with routers, wifi and things dependent on steady electricity.
So far so good.
I have sleep apnea and use a CPAP machine at night while sleeping. Due to the advice of the same young man, I have a high end circuit breaker plugged in the socket, a good size UPC with another redundant circuit breaker plugged into that circuit breaker with a simple on off circuit breaker switch to use at night with nature calls. That has worked very well.
Getty image, sorry.
You must live in the same county as I do.
Not all of us are stupid, unfortunately we are vastly outnumbered by those who are.
If the short fat Korean boy does drop one on us I really hope it hits Sacramento when the whole legislature and moonbeam are in residence.
DAMN, THAT WOULD SOLVE A LOT OF PROBLEMS.
(and eliminate a lot of elected WETBACKS at the same time).
My Wife grew up in Oxnard.
