President Trump called on Congress to “legalize” DACA late Tuesday, just hours after his administration announced the repeal of the amnesty for children brought to the country illegally — promising that he will “revisit this issue” if Congress does not turn DACA into legislation.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced the repeal of the Obama era executive order — known as the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program — both on constitutional grounds and also on principle.
“The effect of this unilateral executive amnesty, among other things, contributed to a surge of unaccompanied minors on the southern border that yielded terrible humanitarian consequences,” Sessions said. “It also denied jobs to hundreds of thousands of Americans by allowing those same jobs to go to illegal aliens.”
The move saw significant opposition from Democrats and voices in the media, while even some Republicans who formerly opposed DACA called for Congress to act to resolve the issue with legislation.
The rollback includes a six-month delay so as to allow Congress to act if it so chose. The White House had expressed hope that the issue could be included as part of a broader immigration legislation package, with Trump tweeting that he hoped to work with Democrats and Republicans for a reform “that puts hardworking citizens of our country 1st.”
But by late Tuesday, Trump appeared to have turned into a paper tiger on the key campaign promise to get rid of DACA, saying he would “revisit this issue” if Congress did not “legalize DACA.”

I think this is just his way of mocking the inability of Congress to actually get anything done. Look at the indignation from them when he threw the whole issue on their laps - insisting that he must be “involved” (which, to those losers, means they can weasel out of any responsibility for anything they do or don’t do). So... he’s threatening to become “involved” by doing something they wouldn’t want him to do.

It’s not but you have numerous Congress critters from the UniParty crying & moaning that DACA shouldn’t have been rescinded.
President Trump has basically held out a noose for the UniParty to stick it’s head into for the 2018 elections. The GOPe turds will HAVE to go on record whether they support a legislated DACA for the primaries & fall elections.
So I will say ONCE AGAIN, there is not need to REVISIT DACA in 6 months. It ends. Finito. It’s dead.
Yet, here we get Conway saying Trump will look at it again if Congress dosn’t act.
We’ll soon see. The messaging by Trump has been clumsy and cryptic. Say what you want exactly, Mr. Pres!

Well it isn’t. And just like the rest of of the dullards, you will find out that just like on all the past issues that his base isn’t what you cartoonishly assume they are.

My concern is that GOP congressrats don’t care...If they keep the majority, then they are committee chair, if they lose then they are minority committee chair. If individual congressrat loses, they become lobbyists or media “contributors”
Washington has no interest in serving WE THE PEOPLE. Less problematic in the states (except for IL NY and CA).
