Lesson learned from Hurricane Mathew. Leave your home and go elsewhere to a safe place.

Working out from the eye, tallest convection spiral begins at 1 o’clock. Winds all the way around, 360, then around again to 9 o’clock.
That’s today’s...production. Symmetrical, a large area of laminar flow, no turbulence or friction, over warming water.
Wonder what happens next?

My thinking as well. Thread the needle between cuba and florida and then it’s pick a port...any port...

You are an old pro, emphasis on “pro”. In a couple of days we'll know the path. Chickenhearted me will have my niece and her dog out of the State, so my Sis won't be mad if Ft. Lauderdale is hit. God Speed to all in FL. Irma looks mighty mean.

My daughter is in Miami in the Redlands. Her in-laws were there during Andrew and were fortunate to survive. Whenever it looks like a bad one is coming they head north. I’m sure they will be boarding up and heading north soon.

E-W track leaves an Irma-wide swath of roads blocked by fallen trees, coast to coast.
S-N track means a Florida wide swath of tree blocked roads, from Jacksonville to the Everglades.

If the eye passes over much of the Dominican Republic or Cuba it could be weakened. Cuba is 735 miles long and if it tracked along half of it...
