President Trump's announcement that he will rescind an Obama-era executive action providing legal protection to people brought to the U.S. as children has all the appearances of a final decision.
But it's actually just an opening bid.
By including a six-month delay before the end of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival program, Trump gave Congress a narrow but achievable window to spare the Dreamers.
There are signs that Republicans in Congress may want to prevent the deportation of nearly 800,000 individuals who have taken advantage of the program to get drivers licenses, go to college and launch careers.
Speaker of the House Paul Ryan and other leading Republicans publicly urged the White House to maintain the program, and Trump said in the past that he would find some accommodation for Dreamers.
“We’re going to work something out that’s going to make people happy and proud,” he told TIME in 2016.
The fate of the program had been the subject of intense internal debate at the White House in recent months, with Attorney General Jeff Sessions arguing it was not legally justified. A White House official indicated that view prevailed, saying that while Trump agrees with the program's outcome, he objects to the way it was done....

Watch how fast the Uniparty comes up with illegal friendly legislation. Before we get our taxes lowered or Obamacare repealed i’d bet. Trump needs to veto anything the the two parties come up with together.
And if we have our say, they will not get amnesty, they will get deported, and any member of congress that attempts otherwise should get booted from office. And should Trump sign amnesty, we can hope that there will be a credible Republican to primary him in 2020.
If that’s the case the whole of Central America can come in.

Even more so...the vote will be RIGHT BEFORE Primary season opens. Republicans better think hard before they turn their backs on this country, yet again.
It will be interesting to see if congress which has trouble passing anything will find a way to “save” DACA.
My view is that Trump is baiting them, if they do find a voting number, he simply needs to add funding for the wall with reimbursement via a Mexico payment program. This is something a deal maker should be able to manage.
I have never had a problem with law abiding, non voting, non gang members keeping up with American traditions having resident status. Get off welfare, legalize their work and their taxes and keep them from citizenship for the length of time required to develop USA appreciation. No problem with this at all, but I want a wall and I want illegal immigration to stop.
No one ever discusses if amnesty is granted the chain migration afforded 6 family members and their dependents equals the dissolution of the USA’s borders and our citizenship. Is the USA really this stupid?
The “dreamer act” was not passed. Undeterred, Obama implemented it anyway via bogus “executive actions”.
If Congress passes some sort of “dreamer act” now - a very offensive term by the way - it’s the Republicans that did it. If a Democrat Congress did not pass it and a Republican Congress does, they will have shot themselves in the head politically.
Trump would be an fool to sign it. It would destroy his support.

Illegal immigration was supposed to be stopped by the 1986 Immigration Act.
It increased the problem 10 fold.
ALL illegal aliens must go home.
