Indigenous People’s Day. That’s fair, as long as there is a ‘LEGAL Immigrant’s Day’. After, aren’t the SJWs all about ‘equality’?

This day would celebrate all the people from all over the world who legally immigrated to, or explored North America, beginning with Cristoforo Colombo! (This proposed day is NOT meant to celebrate illegal aliens!)

I am sure they realize that there would not be a “New World” for occupation by Spain and England, if Columbus had not made the trek across the ocean.

Bering settlers have their own little nations called casino reservations. Why do we need ot name a holiday for another nation?

Should we have England day, too? Peru day? Italy day?

This country has gone insane.

Hey, don't blame the whole country for the asylum that is California.

LA pays homage to slave-keeping cannibals. Good job, LA! Now secede already.

Ain’t no people “Indigenous” to the American continent. Indians were Asian migrants.

They came from Asia and Europe via land bridges during the last great ice age.

...Yea just ignore the history of the country, and lets ignore where the people came from which made this country a first world , great country through hard work...

We are entering an unbelievable world predicted in a novel written 68 years ago. Democrats are today’s Big Brother.

“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten,  every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered.
And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped.
Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”...George Orwell, “1984”

In 1892 the US Post Office issued a 16 stamp commemorative set of stamps on the 400th anniversary of the first voyage of Columbus. The face values of the stamps ranged from 1 cent to 5 dollars. The set was reissued in 1992 for the 500th anniversary. I doubt there will be a 600th issue later this century. This is the 4 cent issue.

The writer quotes Howard Zinn who was a covert member of the Communist Party USA when it was still a Stalin-directed operation of the Politburo and KGB.

That is like quoting Adolf Hitler as a famous German sociologist and detached observer of German history.

Or, like the Los Angeles Times being as unbiased as Dur Sturmer. Paging editor Goebels.

Oh, the Hispanics of LA/Calif. who don’t like Columbus must denounce their own Spanish ancestry and give back everything they own to their local La Raza extortion gang.

If there ever is an American city that needs to be renamed, it is both Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Let’s change them to Los Diablos and Cisco Kid City. Much more accurate.

Just changing a name to appease a small group of ignoramuses is like changing your dirty underwear but not curing the jock rash they cover.

Henceforth in Los Angeles, there will be no day devoted solely to the achievements of Columbus, who was both the discoverer of the New World and the catalyst for the destruction of Native American people and their cultures in the centuries that followed.

So we celebrate a stone age culture now? Do we all stop using electricity for a day in solidarity?

The indigenous people of California were not at the top of the food chain. The California grizzly was. They had no written language, no agriculture, no horse, no wheel, no art, no architecture, no science, no medicine, no nothing. They lived for a thousand years in a mild climate, abundant local food and no need to advance. Why Los Angeles wishes to emulate these people is beyond me.

“Indigenous Peoples Day” is a victory for political correctness. It beat out “Merciless Indian Savages Day.”

Also a return to traditional Indian food! Let California declare a Indigenous foods day in which everyone MUST partake in Aboriginal foods.
Their yummy treats were...Snails, caterpillars, minnows crickets, grubs, slugs, fly maggots, horned toads, ground up earthworms, grasshoppers and skunks.
Also deer, rabbits, mice, snakes, rats, coyotes, squirrels, crows.
And that is just part of the list. If it moved, it was food. Except the Grizzly bear. Too big, way too mean.
