New Orleans could be a big mess with only 15-20 inches of rain...
Rainfall amounts could be higher if this system stalls over a particular area such as Houston/Galveston.

Maybe that Joan of Arc statue could float on down to Houston. Would love to have it
Aren't you in Massachusetts?
Yes, I am in MA,but have been following the hurricane news.
I wish everyone well in what seems to be a dreadful storm.

“How come life-threatening hurricanes only occur on Republican watches?”
Katrina, Bush, Blacks
Harvey, Trump, Hispanics
A pro tip from someone who had lived in the Houston area his whole life. Buy your hurricane preps in early May. Don’t wait until the storm is in the gulf.
Wow. That's interesting. I didn't know there were self-updating stuff that you could post here. Short videos and animations (ie, Gifs) I was fully aware of. In any case, doesn't hurt to have the projected path again downthread, for the sake of convenience.
Yikes. You may be in it's direct path. Please keep us posted ... and stay safe.
I’m in Houston a big boy-loads of concrete-a gigantic bathtub. My husband is cutting the yard and will not tell me if we can leave yet. We have another house we are renovating in Tyler. He is not committed to leaving yet. There is no way he will be delivering lumber Mon/Tuesday of next week.
Yes, for sure!
We’ve had a taste of hurricanes here in the northeast, every now and then, but rarely as powerful as they are down south along the East and Gulf coasts.
...SOUTHeast coast
Here in the Keys we have the toughest building codes in the world many homes are 13 feet om the air and pay outrageous amounts for wind and flood and they keep going up.I posed the question recently why we don't just self insure, maybe New Orleans needs to do that as well.
No one takes more care of a situation than those who live there.
I actually remember the Hurricane of 1938———I was 5 years old,my father had just died, and the storm HOWLED all night, which terrified me.
The noise was horrible.

I’ll be praying for you all.
I visited Houston briefly in the 90s-——loved it.

Wow! I've lived in NY all of my life, but wasn't born until '57. Yes, I've read that that was a very bad one.
