Up to a certain point. They agents total compensation - regular salary and overtime - is capped at $160,000 per year. The head of the Secret Service wants that raised to $187,000.

Fake news. With overtime, the agents are hitting the upper annual salary cap set by law ($160,300). The Secret Service is not running out of money. The solution is to rotate the agents so that none hit the cap, and hire more agents.

Under Obama 31 people got Secret Service protection. Under Trump it's 47. All his children get it. His grandchildren get it. His children's spouses get it. That's seventeen right there, plus the President himself. Who are the other 29?

Since the President is sending his entire paycheck to various government projects, he should use it for his own security force and fire the SS agents that were hired in the last eight years. You're right about the hatred against the family so I don't begrudge their protection so much. Who are the other 29 people outside of the President's family who get Secret Service protection and why do they deserve it is what I'd like to know?
