One week after violent protests rattled Charlottesville, Virginia, a scheduled free speech rally in Boston today was met with thousands of counterprotesters, but the day went off mostly smoothly, police said, with 27 arrests for assaults on police Officers, but few injuries.
.... After the free speech event has concluded, counterprotesters still swarmed Boston this afternoon, and riot police also responded in the city.
... Amid the confrontations, Boston police tweeted that individuals are asked to "refrain from throwing urine, bottles and other harmful projectiles at our officers."

If one side is having a rally to protect Free Speech, then the counter protester group must be against Free Speech....which we know they are. AntiFA is really anti First Amendment, not anti fascist.
The Boston police handled this the way Charlottesville should have. Keep the two groups separated.
I defer to you on that, you would know better than I on that. But I believe every state has an element of moonbattery, and like some things of the mind, is contagious.
Coming from a blue state, I hold out hope for all red states. I hope the red states can find it in themselves to hold out some hope for us.
I think with the zero-tolerance of vote fraud some of you guys might find you are actually redder than you know. I trust Kobach to clean it up.
His tweet can be read two ways, one of which is NOT supporting the shutdown of the event for free speech.
I can’t disagree that it is a reality we are more susceptible in these states.
No way. The Free Speech coalition didn’t even get to speak. He was referring to the “counter-protestors”. The Antifa.
Look at the comments following his tweet. The predominant sentiment is that they showed up not to protest this group of kids, but to protest Trump himself.
Today’s rally was by a group that is basically unknown. It’s literally a group of kids who formed up after Antifa started shutting down conservative events on the west coast and they wanted to raise their voice in support of free speech.
I couldn’t find anyone anywhere who could point to a single word uttered by anyone in this group that could legitimately be called controversial, much less hateful. They refused several groups who wanted to join them that had some white supremacist leanings. The one thing that was known about them though is it that they are dedicated Trump supporters.
So we have a group of Trump supporters who wish to speak and they’re universally condemned as being racist haters strictly due to their support for Trump. And after they’re pelted, threatened and silenced, having done not a single thing wrong, Trump himself congratulates the group of leftist totalitarians who pelted, threatened and silenced them!
Kinda makes you wonder “why should I support someone if he himself condemns me for supporting him”? I’m getting attacked from all sides because I support Trump and he condemns me for doing it, too?” Causes the enthusiasm to fade a bit to say the least.
Anyone remember this:
Americans seem to WANT to forget.
Wonder how many Harvard professors stayed home?
Nothing will happen, it will be cite and release, charges to be later dropped by a PA afraid of making the perpetually aggrieved class angry and “triggered”.
They wore masks so I can't be sure, but I didn't see any masked home dwellers out in their yards or on porches.
Depends on how many buses Soros can rent.
In this case, probably Cambridge.
Barely acceptable, the Boston Coppers should have allowed no masks, hoods, backpacks, sticks or poles, or anything that can be thrown.
But the moron cops DID confiscate and arrest for possession of ballistic vests which can only be used defensively.
I bet you can smell the pigs from miles away.
