After Charlottesville, only one flag will fly at Six Flags Over Texas

As of Friday morning, the five flags other than the United States flag — representing France, Spain, Mexico, the Republic of Texas and the Confederacy — are being left to the history books.

The company should issue a statement condemning “in the strongest possible terms” those who fought inside the Alamo. Maybe that would help them sell an additional 65 cents worth of tickets.

Six Flags Over Texas has flown the Confederate States of America flag since the park opened in 1961, and that is not going to change despite growing pressure around the country following the violence in Charlottesville. The "Stars and bars" was the first official flag of the confederacy. It flies alongside the American flag near the entrance to the park.
