Country music legend Charlie Daniels isnt in favor of people tearing any of the Confederate statues down and even compared the act to what ISIS is doing.
The Devil Went Down To Georgia singer joined Rita Cosby on Newsmax on Wednesday to discuss the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia last weekend and the events that have followed since then. Daniels started off his argument about why the Confederate statues should stay standing by comparing those who mean to tear them down to ISIS.
Thats what ISIS is doing, There were pieces of history over there they didnt like, theyre taking em down, Daniels began.
Where does it go to Rita? I mean where does it stop? Is it just gonna be Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson or are we headed into Jefferson and Washington, who were both slave owners. How deep in history are we gonna go? Is everybody that we disagree with, we are gonna have to wipe every semblance of them out? Is that what this is all about? Is this where its gonna end, is this where its gonna go?

They are the American Taliban - blowing up inanimate iconography of the past because of their own extreme ideology and politics.

Or what Mao Zedong did during the Cultural Revolution, an act that wiped out much of China’s very rich cultural and historical heritage.

The Taliban started it. ISIS are just copycats. Russian Stalinists did it - so did Chinese thugs in the 'revolution'... It's a trademark tactic of totalitarian monsters...

And he was just following in the footsteps of the first emperor of China who ordered all histories to be burned so everything began with him.

Imagine if Stalin and Mao had Photoshop. LOL Well, they did have the next best thing--airbrushing. There's a lot of photos from the Stalin era where people who fell out of favor with Stalin were liquidated and their likeness in a photo next to Stalin were airbrushed out.

I am aware of that. The disappearing people in Stalin Photographs, one by one as they fell out of favor.
My favorite by far, Mao swimming in the Yangtze River.
Photoshop just would have made it much easier for them.
