FOX News reporter Doug McKelway attended the violent protests Saturday in Charlottesville, Virginia.
McKelway told FOX News viewers the police pulled out of Lee Park after the violence started. The police told him, Were leaving. Its too dangerous.
Doug McKelway: We are now beginning to hear criticism bubble up on all sides of this event about the initial slow response by the police. When I got out of my car yesterday in Charlottesville about 10:30 in the morning you knew this was a bad scene and bad things were going to be happening because people were congregating at Lee Park and Emancipation Park wearing helmets, body armor, carrying big heavy sticks. Nobody was intent on peace here from either side. People were intent on causing havoc and causing damage. And even as wounded were being brought out of the park police were sitting idly by. I was standing off a cordoned off area where the police had set up as a staging area, the state police, and they said you can come in here this is a safe area. But when the tear gas started to fly, thrown by protesters, the police themselves began to evacuate then. I asked the guy who was in charge, Where you going? He said, Were leaving. Its too dangerous. They had a chance to nip this thing in the bud and they chose not to.

NOW he gets "fair and balanced".
Crass as it may seem, there are two sides here. Pick one.

3 sides.
1. The alt-right.
2. The Antifa rioters.
3. The cops.
I side with the cops. The other groups were willing participants in a firestorm created and orchestrated for a violent racial confrontation. The cops? They were rendered powerless by orders from above.
I’d have turned a blind eye too.
“They had a chance to nip this thing in the bud and they chose not to.”

What a load of crap. What a lie!
Just like Ferguson, Baltimore, and many other riot locations; the cops were told to stand down and NOT interfere.
Sure, they could have stopped it. With riot gear, batons, tear gas, tanks and more. But this riot (as they all are) was staged. And the intent was to let Antifa terrorize the community.
I do. Its their job. If they dont want to do it, let them quit.
________________________________________________
If you think about it, perhaps the cops DID want to do their job. Just like the cops in Baltimore, Ferguson and other riot locations.
Only to be ordered to STAND DOWN and let them have “space to destroy”.
“Let them quit”?
Yeah. If I was a cop, risking my life to protect groups that hate me, and I had no means of defense - I would quit.
There are 2 sides but they are not what you think they are.
There is the side that engages in identity politics and tribalism. That side will use the tools that are always employed by those who engage in identity politics and tribalism....violence, intimidation, ignoring the rule of law, vigilante justice based on group identification, collective responsibility, etc...
The other side is the one that believes in 1st world enlightened western values. This side will strive for the rule of law, blind justice, individual rights for all, property rights for all, individualism, personal responsibility, etc...
I know which side I choose.
So you choose but are afraid to stand up in public and say so? Curious.
The mayor and governor. Go straight to the top. Civil Rights were banned by someone at the top! Antifa showed up & the cops did not stand between them & those that had a permit. Antifa chased the non violent protestors out. Keep calm & pay attention folks. This was a set up.
Sorry. I thought it would be obvious. I choose the 1st world enlightened side and reject the tribalism and group identity politics of BLM, Antifa, KKK, alt-Right, etc...
I will publicly say that to anyone I discuss it with.
You see, I don’t see this as tribalism. I see it as a threat to all the things we both value. It ain’t about skin color to me and I don’t think it is to almost all of these alt right kids. I think you may be fallling victim to the BSM propaganda about them. Maybe I am giving them more credit than they are due. For the moment, it seems to me, they are willing to do things that aren’t in my skill set and need doing. Antifa needs to be crushed. Fighting with sticks in the street at my age ain’t in my skill set but I support what they are willing to do. I would rather see the gummint crush them but that ain’t happening. When things evolve, as they probably will, to include my skill set then I may get involved as well.
She talks a lot but has no side she’s willing to stand on. 20 or so posts telling us she has opinion except everyone is wrong - just air
And which side do you stand on?
Not exactly a shining example of "White Supremacy", is it?
Remember. The police you see on the protest line are not in charge. The mayor hires a chief and the chief takes the lead from the mayor.
The chief has asst chiefs and captains who do the planning and operations orders.
Anyone who is mad at the police shouod direct their anger at the chief and command staff
{ golf clap for the Jeffy patrol }

No different than the "revolutionary" mischief that was manufactured circa 1969... when cops stood their ground.

The difference?
Back then American "police" departments, and culture, hadn't been infiltrated and subverted by rainbow SJW's... yet.
>>They wont fare well in the revolution.
Kinda hard to low crawl when your heart explodes.
Zombieland Rule #1: CARDIO!
State Police were in charge, working for Governor McAuliffe
The skin heads had a permit to assemble. Like it or not, the USA allows for the freedom of speech, no matter how ugly the speech is. The sorros funded people did not have a permit to lawfully assemble. The sorros people should have been arrested. the skin heads should have been protected.
why is it okay to say: black lives matter, but it’s hateful to say white lives matter? don’t all lives matter?
